Editor Review

Hi Rsrikanth05!

I have done a review for you - sorry for the delay, I'm starting to work on some of the back log. If you've forgotten where it is, it is here.

If you have any questions or comments, leave a message here (or on my talk page).

Happy editing!

It looks like SPAM.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:06, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

You decide what is spam depending on what ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.238.105.221 (talk) 11:46, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't decide. It looks like a BLOG, which isn't accepted here as per WP:EXT. Enjoy. ANd in the future, PLEASE sign your posts with ~~~~... --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:48, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Warnings: 10 November 2009

I made a number of postings and you harassed me over and over. All I did was to put a link to my site simply copying others on the page who had similar links. I find you are not consistent in your editorial views. You let some sites link (and some of them are broken links) and I cant link. Care to comment? (FKMRN)

Rbala99 (talk) 07:33, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Raghu

Inspite of repeated Warnings, you continued doing so. This isn't what we call harassing. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:47, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

You still have not provided any explanation on why CarnaticIndia.com is allowed to link and I am not. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnatic_music - under external links. All I did was to try to put external links and you do not provide any, not 1 shred of explanation, and keep warning me. So, that is harassment in my book. Explain in a rational manner and I can be convinced. Right now, all you are doing is providing warnings without any explanations.

Your book sucks then. Just because something exists in Wikipedia, it DOES NOT mean tht something else HAS TO EXIST. If you find crap, which happens to be a rival of yours, and add yours with this reason, yours will be removed and YOU'll be left with a warn, because YOU are at fault. There I've removed the other one, now if I hear one more squeak, better be warned.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:20, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Read WP:EXIST --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:20, 10 November 2009 (UTC) And STOP emailing me. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:58, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Why are you so rude? I have tried to stay civil (which happens to be one of the core concepts in the Wikipedia rules) and you say things like 1) "I hear one more squeak, better be warned" 2) "Your book sucks then" 3) I only wrote to your email because it was on your talk page and you replied with all capitals. Your behavior is heavy handed, and is not really being civil in my mind. I believe I am allowed to ask questions and required a civil response, and consistent answer. Not angry threats without proper explanations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbala99 (talkcontribs) 17:10, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

1> Inspite of telling you to follow rules, you refused to and resorted to calling me a harasser and targetting you. That's what pisses me off. We don't get paid to do this, it's all voluntary. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:13, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

I realize it is voluntary and appreciate you guys trying to keep the stuff devoid of commercial elements and spam. Also I looked at the rules and saw content similar to what I wrong that was there not on 1 page but several of them and didnt think I was doing anything wrong. In any event, honestly, I didnt know how this "talk" system worked and so only emailed because I saw it on your page somewhere. I suggest removing it if you feel that folks shouldnt contact you etc. Also, just writing "warning" etc to me doesnt help me - rather have an explanation in a nice, civil manner. Overall, I honestly feel that one needs to maintain some decorum in conversations and being told "GET LOST" , or the other things mentioned above is not really being nice at a basic human level when all I asked for was an explanation. I said that same thing.. way before. Besides, tht is a BOT. Also, Editor Review is NOT for you to rant about me. "Wikipedia's Editor review process allows users' behavior and contributions to Wikipedia to be evaluated by peers," You aren't my Peer. So stop editing that page, and once again, read ALL the rules of Wikipedia before targetting me. Also, I DID explain... Read the links I provided. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 19:29, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

You may feel you explained, but I have gone through the other discussions on this page and noticed something. My feeling is that sometimes it may not be "what you say, it is how you say it". I think a lot of communication issues arise from this problem. I think most people, myself included, mean no harm but when the language is rough then things get out of hand very quickly. Also I dont think a BOT says "GET LOST" or "Your book is dumb" etc... :-):-) Bot-elaam apadi pesaathu... :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbala99 (talkcontribs) 01:12, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

When the hell did I tell you that I am a bot? Main itna bada bewakoof nahi hoon smjha.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:22, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Illuminati Link 2

You decide that is spam depending on what ? Your sympathy about something or what ? You are no owner of Wikipedia and as over there there are links of other people also mine must stay there , opposite explain your motivations well , you look like someone without a clue of what doing around , trust me change job . I will bring this thing to high levels if necessary , my new job in the life will be to stay behind you until my damn right to post a good link will be kept as for others . Jeez and this is Wikipedia ? The FREE online encyclopedia ? And it is not a blog , you don't even know what a blog is and what a news portal site is ... apparently . And if it's a blog link is over there you see only mine ? Blog about the historical Illuminati of Adam Weishaupt and their appearance in mainstream media like Angels & Demons (german)<<what's that ? You deleted the one that was there since eve r, but it's not the point , nexus23.org is not a blog and i challenge u to demonstrate the opposite . You ignorant . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sp4rt4n (talkcontribs) 12:19, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Yours is a blog entry, the other three above that aren't in the same category. Read WP:SPAM, WP:EXT, WP:EXIST. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:00, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Still ? YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLUE OF WHAT A BLOG IS ? and seeing how you treat other users or you are the dumb here or WIKIPEDIA OWNERS ARE LIKE YOU. DECIDE NOW , WHO is WHO ?--Sp4rt4n (talk) 14:27, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Sp4rt4n (talkcontribs)

1> You're rude, therefore I'm rude.

2> None of what you said is true. I don't treat you as dumb, you choose to lok at it that way. 3> I know what a blog is, I maintain one MYSELF. 4> I have asked for an admin to have a lok, so till then, SHUT UP. Now, stop bothering me okay. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:26, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Order, order

Folks this is getting out of hand. Please be civil and discuss this like adults. – ukexpat (talk) 17:43, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

I didn't start it. I tried to end it. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 19:29, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Thought you might want a heads-up on your false-positive on this page. All the relevant info is already in the parent article, so the merge was quick. 81.111.114.131 (talk) 13:52, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

You didn't specify a reason, so I thought you were a vandal. Sorry about that. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:53, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Another look at WP:AGF might be in order. Along perhaps with actually reading the edit summaries, which (in my opinion at least) explain the edits. Perhaps you got me confused with someone else? 81.111.114.131 (talk) 13:57, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Actually, No, I was using Huggle, and the first edit coincided with another guy blanking a page, so I got confused.. Once again, I'm sorry.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:05, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism to my user page

Many thanks. Ben MacDui 19:10, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

You're most welcome.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:24, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

I believe his edits are in good faith. I see no reason to be warning him so harshly for these. Until It Sleeps Happy Thanksgiving 14:00, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I'll NOT use Huggle anymore. Job done. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:05, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm not saying to stop using Huggle completely, just to be more careful with it... Until It Sleeps Happy Thanksgiving 14:07, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
No use, THIS ALWAYS happens to me, I revert, get into trouble, end up warning admins as well... Ask PhantomSteve,Iridiscent, and EyeSerene. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:08, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Reverting back my edits User_talk:208.252.24.66

Rsrikanth05, you reverted my updates to the page on the contaminated and superfund sites in Marlboro. I am not clear why you want to revert my edits in which I clearly identify which are superfund sites and which are not? "Superfund sites" denotes a whole different level of pollution on the site. It would seem like important information to identify those sites which reach such messed up status as to need "superfund" attention and those sites which only have a localized issue with industrial or farming waste. I'm also not clear why you accused me of vandalism of the site by adding the difference. Can you please explain your logic and the issue you have with my edits? I wonder what prompted such a strong reaction... can you please outline your concern so I can either avoid this issue in the future OR we can work through the information??? Thank Thanks Thom —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.252.24.66 (talk) 14:47, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, I was the only one who reverted tehm, and I won't in the future, so you won't have a problem from me. I thought Superfunded meant some sorta adverts. I'm sorry. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:07, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
I understand honest errors... done them myself... but as a suggestion, before you jump so quickly you might want to check the meaning of words on a page specific to a town in the USA written in US English before making such an assumption in the future. Especially if you are going to accuse me of vandalism of the page. Seems a bit harsh and an over-reaction. I am just trying to improve the page of the town I live in because it needs to be expanded built and fixed. FYI: "Superfund" is a specific term for a bit of land so contaminated that it requires the resources of the US government to clean up and can not be handled as a State/local event. Regards, Thom
That's why I said, it won't happen again, because I won't let it happen again..--Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:29, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

igloo

Hi Rsrikanth05 , and thanks for your interest in igloo. Before using the program, please read the following information carefully - failure to do so may result in your test access being revoked.

igloo is a JavaScript-powered, browser-based anti-vandalism tool, which means you do not have to download or install anything on your computer and it will work on multiple operating systems. However, it does mean that the performance relies on that of your browser and it may operate more slowly than downloaded programs. You must have either Mozilla Firefox 3+ or Google Chrome to use igloo, as it is currently incompatible with other browsers.

igloo relies on a system called iglooNet to assist you in finding and reverting vandalism. It is this system that transforms the program from a pretty version of recent changes to an actual anti-vandalism tool. Naturally, this is beyond the power of a client-side program, and igloo will regularly communicate with an external, non-Wikimedia server. Because of things like server logs, and the iglooNet abuse tracker, this may allow your IP address to be attached to your username - something which is otherwise impossible on Wikipedia. If you do not want this to happen, you MUST NOT USE IGLOO.

If you decide that you do want to test igloo, please keep in mind that it not wholly stable, and you may experience problems where it performs an invalid edit, or other unwanted action. If this happens, fix any mistakes you've made, apologise to anyone you've offended, and let me know. I don't take any responsibility for your use of the program - if you aren't willing to fix any errors, don't use it.

igloo is already quite powerful. The following is a simple guide to using the program:

  • The igloo interface is similar to that of other software, including huggle. Recent changes appear on the left, and diffs appear on the right.
  • igloo sorts diffs based on iglooNet data so that edits most likely to be vandalism are displayed first. You can press spacebar to view the top diff, or click on any diff to view it directly.
  • When you find vandalism, press 'Q' or click the revert button to revert the change, and issue a warning to the user. igloo automatically issues the correct warning. It will ignore existing warnings that are more than 5 days old, and restart from the beginning.
  • The iglooNet assertion system tags clean and dirty edits with colour coding - if it suspects an edit is vandalism, it will be flagged as red, and if it believes it to be clean, it will tag it green.
  • At any time, you can re-review diffs you have already seen by pressing backspace or using the icons to move through the diff history.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or other feedback, I'd love to know. If you hate it, and won't be using it again, please let me know why - and I'll remove you from the test whitelist. If you now try and use igloo, you should find that it will allow you to use the program. Thanks, and good luck! Ale_Jrbtalk 21:57, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello Sir. I am new to Wikipedia. If you can please review .[1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.55.120.223 (talk) 09:09, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm afraid you'll need an Admin to do that, I'm sorry but I'm of no help. Try talking to User talk:Tinucherian.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:18, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Sir thanks for your suggestion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.55.120.223 (talk) 16:45, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: AWB cleanup

Hi! To make those changes you will have to edit the fields in "Options", "Normal Settings", and then key in your own syntax code. Basically what I am doing is to switch all those dates to be consistently using the DD MM YYYY format, after seeing a whole lot of formats all over those pages, often times even in one page! Do you need a copy of the codes, if you may help to cleanup the other India-related pages? So far the Indian films section alone is over 7000 pages and has taken me a week to do!--Huaiwei (talk) 08:59, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Here are the codes as promised. I am not a coding expert, so I have had to break commands in multiple lines. Maybe you can help to clean the codes up too! :D
Find Replace with Regex Remarks
February|March|April|May|June|July|August|September|October|November|December) ([0-9])([0-9]), $2$3 $1 Yes Finds unlinked dates like "January 12" and changes them to "12 January"
(January|February|March|April|May|June|July|August|September|October|November|December) ([0-9])([0-9])]] $2$3 $1]] Yes Finds linked dates like "January 12]]" and changes them to "12 January]]"
February|March|April|May|June|July|August|September|October|November|December) ([0-9]), $2 $1 Yes Finds unlinked dates like "January 1" and changes them to "1 January"
(January|February|March|April|May|June|July|August|September|October|November|December) ([0-9])]] $2$3 $1]] Yes Finds linked dates like "January 1]]" and changes them to "1 January]]"
]], [[1 ]] [[1 No Removes commas between linked date elements for years starting with 1
]], [[2 ]] [[2 No Removes commas between linked date elements for years starting with 2
]][[1 ]] [[1 No Adds missing spaces between linked date elements for years starting with 1
]][[2 ]] [[2 No Adds missing spaces between linked date elements for years starting with 2

Note that I have stopped delinking dates, because there is now a bot doing this work: User:Full-date_unlinking_bot.

Meanwhile, please be warned that the above will not capture dates presented in shorthand or unusual forms (Nov 2, for eg), so that will still need monitoring.--Huaiwei (talk) 16:47, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
