Image copyright problem with Image:T820.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:T820.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 11:32, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:T520.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:520.jpg. The copy called Image:520.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 11:45, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:T520.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:T520.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 22:39, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

September 2007

Please do not add commercial material to Wikipedia, as you did to Portable media player. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. And do not use anonymous accounts, like User:66.99.17.194, to do your bidding. That is considered as sock puppetry. There are serious consequences for those who continue this habit. Re: Transcend Tsonic

Unfortunately, non-commercial use only images aren't allowed on Wikipedia. The idea is to promote free content, so images must be released under a license which allows modification and commercial/non-commercial distribution. If you find a promotional/presskit photo somewhere on the internet, you can't use it on Wikipedia, since there's plenty of opportunity for someone to take a similar photograph of, in this case, portable music players, and release such photos under a free license. You could try searching flickr for images licensed under {{cc-by-2.0}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}} to use as replacements, or simply create your own photographs. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 09:24, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Wow, that was quick :) Good luck! ˉˉanetode╦╩ 09:27, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, make sure to select the first option at Special:Upload ([1]) when uploading your own photographs. There's a selection of free licenses in the "licensing" field just below the "summary" field, {{GFDL-self}} is one of the options. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 09:32, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the Transcend Tsonic

As per what you and another user have stated on the iPod discussion about this device, I decided to put research into it. And, although it may be a minor thing, the Transcend USA site spells it as "T.sonic" with a period. Wouldn't that be the more appropiate way to spell it? AquaStreak 11:55, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 04:18, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Transcend Tsonic (from my talk page)

Take a look at the notability guidelines and the manual of style. You need to make sure that the article is notable and asserts that notability. In reading that article, it doesn't seem to assert that notability; it looks to me like something that could easily be merged with the company page. Adding information to it would help; however, make sure it's verifiable and from reliable sources. If you need any help, let me know. Good luck! =David(talk)(contribs) 22:16, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:T530.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:T530.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:08, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 23:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
