Bleach redirects[edit]

While I appreciate your attempt to help, it was at the proper title already. Character pages which give any amount of detailed information are called Characters in X, not List of characters in X. Well, thanks for stopping. That's why it's best to check the talk page before moving a page even if it seems like an obvious typo or whatever. I remember I got in trouble for moving the Venom (comics) page once without full discussion because the seemingly obvious (Marvel) disambiguation was wrong. --tjstrf talk 22:58, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Screenshot deletion[edit]

The images that you mentioned did not have a source. Just saying that "this is a screenshot" doesn't give the source. You have to tell us how you got the screenshot, mention the website (if you have taken it from a website), and make sure that you know from where the website got the picture. That is what a source means. I don't know if you have read this debate - Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Removal of images from lists of episodes - lot's of fair use images in an article is considered to be a violation of our policy on fair-use. And lots does include one image per episode resulting in a page having hundreds of non-free images. So it would be better if you do not add any fair-use images to list of episodes articles without there being any other reason other than decoration. - Aksi_great (talk) 10:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply, now it's somewhat more clear to me. Indeed, I don't know how the screenshots you removed were made. As for the screenshots I make, I just make them myself from a set of DVDs that I own, and upload them after considerable resizing so that they are small enough for fair use.
I have not read the discussion (I never read admins' noticeboard, actually), I'll try to catch up when time permits. In the meantime, can you elaborate a bit on possible solutions? Hunter x Hunter has 62 episodes, is it still OK to have 62 fair use images on one page (you said having hundreds is a violation, but what's the limit)? If not, would it help if I make a separate page for each episode as it is already done with other series? The reason for having images there is that the episode titles are stylish and cool, but they don't really refer to the content, and the descriptions (even short ones I put there recently) are too long to read all at once. Hence, if you need to find a particular episode, it is much easier to scroll the images and pick the one by looking at it.
Besides that, some images are also used as characters' portraits in other articles. Is it considered a violation of fair use if one page uses several dozens of fair use images which are used elsewhere anyway? --Ru.spider 16:03, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There is no limit (or consensus) on what constitutes as the maximum number of fair-use images you can have on a page. The main gist of the discussion was that even having one image per episode is not allowed as it is just a way of working around our non-free content policy. There is also the question of whether the images that are taken as screenshots actually add any information about the show, or is it just a way of making the page look good. When you say that you can identify an episode with its screenshot you must discuss why that particular scene is representative of the entire episode. If it is just a random screenshot then it won't do. IMO list of episodes shouldn't have more than 1-2 screenshots and those should be ones which define the show. Ultimately it is up to you to decide whether the image you add does fall under our valid use of non-free images criteria. - Aksi_great (talk) 15:17, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
