Welcome!

Hello, Ruisleipa, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Draft:Wirepas Connectivity Suite, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. A tag has been placed on Draft:Wirepas Connectivity Suite, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.Deb (talk) 17:03, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Deb thank you for your message. I have already contested the speedy deletion nomination as the article is written from a neutral perspective, uses independent sources, and contains no subjective prose. It is no different in substance from other Wikipedia articles that are currently live, an example of which was mentioned in my contest notice. The subject's notably is also justified through the use of independent research sources. If you can provide exact examples of what is considered promotional I will of course be happy to amend the text. Ruisleipa (talk) 12:37, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just for a start, there are multiple external links within the article text, which is clear evidence of an intention to promote the company. Deb (talk) 13:26, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deb do I understand correctly then that I cannot edit the page but have to completely resubmit it? And that removing the "external links" (are you referring to the links to the Wirepas page, not the research sources? Why are these considered "clear evidence" of an intention to promote the company? And, for that matter, I cannot see any mention of intention having anything to do with suitability on the Wiki information pages) will be enough to ensure it is not deleted again? Ruisleipa (talk) 17:59, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I checked out the other article that you suggested was similar to the one you wrote and there is really no comparison. The Z-Wave article is about a well-known communications protocol. The referencing is extensive and almost all from reliable independent sources, whereas yours almost all originates from Wirepas. Take these out and you'll have nothing much left. The Z-Wave article has existed since 2005 and has been built up, refined and edited by many contributors who don't have any interest in promoting Z-Wave. Yes, there are one or two places where the wording could be improved. However, there are dozens of previous versions we could go back to if we think they are better - we don't have that option with yours.
Saying "I don't understand, please spell it out to me" is a delaying tactic sometimes practised by newcomers. It doesn't work. Please just understand that, if you create a new article and it reads like an advert, it will be deleted. You need to set your conflict of interest aside and try to write it as if you weren't being paid to give a good impression of the company you're working for. Deb (talk) 18:49, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Deb for your reply. I m not trying a delaying tactic, I genuinely thought the article would be suitable. But it's OK, I will have to rewrite it. Since it seems the draft has been removed, can you kindly confirm I need to rewrite and submit it again rather than being able to edit it online? Ruisleipa (talk) 09:05, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Deb, I am starting to rewrite this previously discussed article. I'm just letting you know as a courtesy since on the create page it suggests I contact you as the person who deleted the previous version. Kind regards, Nick. Ruisleipa (talk) 08:32, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple drafts

[edit]

Hi, I was going to move your sandbox draft User:Ruisleipa/sandbox to the draft space, but the title is already taken up by Draft:Wirepas Connectivity Suite. If you don't need the latter, can you please either blank it or place the {{db-author}} (see WP:G7) tag on it so it can be deleted. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:13, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, many thanks for your feedback, I will edit the article. Cheers, Nick Ruisleipa (talk) 11:38, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
I have edited the article to remove inline references, change the researchgate reference, etc. I am happy now to resubmit it, the only question I have is about the comment that the article is not written in an encyclopaedic style. I have read the wiki instructions on style and am having trouble understanding how the article I wrote is unsatisfactory. Would there be any chance of you providing me with some more comments, or shall I just resubmit the draft?
Thanks a lot for your help. Ruisleipa (talk) 09:21, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you have not already done so please resubmit for review. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:04, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
