Thanks

Just wanted to say thankyou for your support and wikification of Macro-Perimetrisation my other contributions in the area of De-Perimeterisation were deleted. So much for being nice to newcomers!?, you however have been and I wanted to say THANKS! (I still am not sure what I did wrong in my initial (& final) attempts to extend the World of Wiki.)Adrius42 (signed on September 21, 2005 from 82.152.47.247)

Trimethylaluminum

I checked with one of my old profs on this topic. The problem here the monomer/dimer issue, which I felt your version didn't satisfactorily address. Then again, neither does mine; I'll try fixing that. DS 12:13, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup taskforce

Hi, I just added a second task to your desk before seeing your wikibreak notice. If you are able to help clean up these pages could you let me know, if not (or if you can not respond) then I'll move the tasks to some other task force member. Andreww 05:23, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, since you are the creator and only editor of this category, you can request it be speedy deleted. Just use db and fill in the reason. Thanks. Who?¿? 18:27, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Shell Lake murders, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Municipalities of Mexico

I am also working on writing articles on municipalities of Mexico. So far I have started Ensenada (municipality), Cajeme and Benito Juárez, Sonora. So I'm sure we will be working with each other. In regards to Image:Bajamunicipios.PNG, why don't you start creating other municipios maps first and then we can work on this one. For the other ones you can choose the style of the other political divisions (states). --Vizcarra 17:34, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK. I think the map looks good. On the topic of States of Mexico, you are right, and I reverted my changes. --Vizcarra 23:18, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

Re: this edit: it's against the MoS to link from within the bolded name that begins the article. -- Jmabel | Talk 03:05, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thanks very much for finding larger versions of the images in Herbig-Haro object, and thanks also for supporting its FAC nomination. Worldtraveller 11:10, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Last Poems

Hi, I've rewtitten this article now. Wonder if you'd mind throwing an eye over the rewritten version? Dlyons493 Talk 07:53, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

    • You say "It should be tagged as a stub though" - happy to do that, but can you point me at the instructions for doing it?

Thanks Dlyons493 Talk 10:57, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

    • That's done - once you pointed out what to do I realised I should have known all along. Tks again. Dlyons493 Talk 13:42, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Naming convention

What do u think about this idea? We can choose to use this Municipality of XYZ instead of XYZ (municipality) or Municipality of XYZ. Let me know what you think. I think it will save lots of time in the future and to avoid mistakes --Vizcarra 20:29, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Neither "municipality of" nor "(municipality)" are part of the names of municipios in Mexico. The whole purpose is to ease writing articles. I will follow your advice and comment this with Hajor. --Vizcarra 21:12, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you mean, then just user lower case for the M. And that's my suggestion. I have asked Hajor for his POV on this. --Vizcarra 21:19, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal

It seems like User:132.248.113.125 has stopped, following your last warning. I can't block him unless he does it again.--Scimitar parley 23:24, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • In that case, he's blocked. Somewhat sloppily, I didn't check the timestamp on the article before I deleted it.--Scimitar parley 23:35, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Spam

Hello Esperanzians! A few announcements.

The Advisory Committee election results are in. In tranch A are Acetic Acid and Flcelloguy. In tranch B are Ryan Norton and Bratsche.

My other annoouncement is that our founder, JCarriker, has founded Esperanza's sister project, Wikipediology. I have written two essays here (my name is Matt Binder). My essays are under Teenage Wikipedians and Anon Editors.

On behalf of myself and Jay Carriker and the other wikipediologists, I would appreciate it if you were to join.

Cheers Esperanza! Redwolf24 (talkHow's my driving?) 23:45, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Mexico

Hi, there. Just a quick note to announce the creation of Wikipedia:WikiProject Mexico (which, as I recall, you suggested to me a couple of months ago). Please take a look, sign up or not as you feel fit, but please keep it on your watchlist. Regards, –Hajor 20:25, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent; thanks for the prompt support. Re Guerra de la Reforma -- I'd call it the Reform War, but include redirects from War of Reform and War of the Reform. Run a Google search for "benito-juarez reform war" (sin las comillas) -- all three are there, but Reform War looks like the clear winner. (This is, by the way, exactly the sort of query I had in mind in proposing Wikipedia:WikiProject Mexico/Terminology, the sort of thing that crops up regularly and is so much easier to resolve with a little additional input from others.) Cheers, –Hajor 22:39, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed your revert on this article, but I couldn't quite understand your reasoning. Do you feel that this sentence (about M. Chauvin not wishing to go to Stockholm) is unencyclopedic, or that it is insufficiently sourced? I can find you some more sources if the latter is the problem. Hypogeum

I replied to your questions in the Hypogeum article talk page. Look forward to further views Maltesedog 17:10, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Is the article so terrible as the latest user who placed his comments wanted to show? Your comments were encouraging, but his comments were extremely discouraging. Maltesedog 17:56, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've expanded on my comments over at peer review. My intention was not to be discouraging. Although my instinct is that it will struggle to become a featured article unless it is substantially expanded. I briefly opened the first 6 entries at Wikipedia:Featured_articles and they are all substantially longer than the current Hypogeum. Whilst length is absolutely not a virtue in itself, there does seem to be a sense that an article needs to be about a subject that can be described in some detail. --bodnotbod 09:05, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Danese Cooper

I added information about the only source you cited in the AfD on the above topic. You might wish to reconsider your vote, or might not. Barno 20:00, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments on the /Terminology page. Looks like we might actually be making some progress on some of those points. Cheers, –Hajor 13:07, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Titoxd's RfA

Thank you!

Thank you for supporting me in my RfA. I never thought I would get so much support! Thanks to your help, my nomination was the 10th most supported RfA in Wikipedia history. Now, please keep an eye out on me while I learn the new tools, ok? Thanks again! Titoxd(?!?) 18:13, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think this would be a great FA but there is no need to rush it. I notice from your user page that you are "away" until mid-December—I think you should wait until you have a bit of clear WikiTime before submitting to WP:FAC. At the very least, wait until it has finished its month on peer review to see if we can improve it some more in a quieter environment. Keep me posted, and good luck! Hi Rune, you're quite active for someone who has left two days ago. But do keep up the good work!. Highly appreciated. Wim van Dorst 19:33, 28 October 2005 (UTC).[reply]

No I didn't give up. It just needs some time. Maltesedog 18:07, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw that you nominated the Tommy Bowden article for deletion. I changed a few things in the article, and I believe that it should be kept. A head coach at a major Division 1 school in American college football is notable and deserves his own article. Thanks, --Alhutch 18:54, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Voting

Thank you for voting for a great Collaboration of the Week, List of Mexican Federal Highways. It is important to Mexico transportation and trade, and I just want to say thanks. Though the article isn't even in Spanish yet...... -- Weirdperson11 19:36, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Featured List Candidate

Alright, I do appreciate the comments made on the FLC page. I have to apologize for being hasty in nominating it, I'm both new to wikipedia and impatient by nature, so 2 comments in a week seemed like little response (that also explains why i posed the FLC tag on the main page, i swear to god the instructions said "on the main page of the article"). As i couldnt find a guideline for how long to let it sit on PR (and maybe i just didnt look hard enough, or in the right places), i just decided to go ahead and nominate. My MO here is basically do what i think should be done, and then fix it if someone points out that I was wrong. As for the images, i felt that there was and is no bias. That being said, it's an easy fix, and i'll take out the GBP helmet image (though ill be leaving the coach image and the ice bowl image, as those are both pretty important). I'll also work on the table widths. Thanks, jfg284 17:32, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Me too, but to be honest I cant figure out how. Theyre made with a template ("prettytable" or something similar) and i cant figure out how to adjust the widths. to be honest, a function of me being new is i also dont know much at all about coding, so most of what i do is stuff im able to figure out from what other users have inputted. That being said, i asked at helpdesk how to go about adjusting this width and hopefully will be able to do that soon.
Thank you. That's the kind of thing i needed to find in some article somewhere to understand how to make tables. But now i dont have to. imagine that. in any case, thanks a bunch, but it wasnt even necessary for the article - Dmcdevit went ahead and fixed up the page on his own. Which i appreciated.jfg284
yea, i find myself doing that all too often. usually i realize it and fix it, other times not. and it will certainly be a resource in the future. thanks.jfg284 21:24, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks

Thank-you for expressing your confidence in me at my recent Request for Adminship. The final result was 40/0/0, and my "superpowers" have now been activated. I look forward to helping out with the development of the encyclopedia. Physchim62 (talk · contribs)

My RFA

I'm sorry you found reason to object to my adminship, but now that I've been promoted, I'd like to clear the slate. If you have any specific issues/problems with me, please feel free to state them on my talk page so that I can work to prevent them in the future.  ALKIVAR 07:23, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The final outcome was (96/2/0), so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any queries about my actions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, thanks!

French Mexicans

Would you vote on this, please: Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2005_November_10#Category:French_Mexicans --Vizcarra 17:42, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but...

My "contributions" to the list consist of nominating it and performing the simple fixes people requested. While i'm happy to see it featured, I did almost nothing in getting it there. Thanks for the congratulations, nonethelss...jfg284 you were saying? 09:26, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Largest cities

Hi Rune,

I pretty sure that 22.0 millions inhabitants in Mexico City is refering to the entire metropolitan area and not only to Mexico City (Metro area includes cities from the State of Mexico such as Neza). Same case for Guadalajara city that the entire metro area has 4.7 millions, and Mty metro area (Not only Mty) has 3.6 millions.

Fuddlemark RfA

Hi Rune,

All of the oppose votes on the Mark Gallagher RfA are jokes - apparently some people felt that near-100 support votes was an appropriate mark to start messing about.

Regards, The Land 13:02, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please review this article. It is up for Wikipedia:Peer review/Butter/archive1 and I noticed it could use some work on the chemical properties/analysis side (and fact check what I added). Thank you in advance for any contributions you make. --maclean25 08:37, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Categorizing Mexican People

Yes, i'm categorizing Mexican people by city, but not the only one doing it, why? I think it's necessary, besides, there's similar categories for Americans, why can't there be any for Mexicans? About the people born in small towns... Well, there's also categories for Mexican people by state, those people can be categorized there according to which state the town they were born in is located. It's been done before. >>> Sagitario 02:25, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Céline Dion —again

Hi. Ive been trying to improve on the Céline Dion article, incorporating many of your suggestions. Could you take a look (please) and maybe offer advice and comments on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Céline Dion? Thanks in advance. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 04:29, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hajor

Hajor wrote to me by e-mail that he left wikipedia because of the "frustrations are outweighing the rewards" and that he wanted to spend the time he spent fighting ignorance at wikipedia with his family. Since the converastion was through e-mail, I would prefer to be no any more detailed. Also, I don't mind the correction; if I did I wouldn't push my abilities to their limits and risk making mistakes. Take care. -JCarriker 23:10, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vaspurakan

the reason i removed the tab from vaspurakan is that it isnt a stub. of course it can still be expanded further. all articles can still be expanded further. but stubs are one or two paragraphs or less about a subject. this is much longer than that and isnt a stub. if you think it still needs more expansion, us the expand template. Missing The Barnstar

I love it! It's one of the coolest (and cutest) barnstars I've seen in a while. I glad to see that someone thinks my rant is justifed. Esperanza was actually founded after several users rallied to try to stop me from leaving so I find it particularly hurtful when its suggested that I should keep my frustrations to myself since Esperanza grew out of my frustration of being ignored and isolated and seeing the same thing happen to others. It may be a hissy-fit, but its ceratainly not bull. You are doing exactly what Esperanza was meant to do. Keep fighting the good fight!-JCarriker 04:12, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
