GA nomination of Lady Gaga discography

[edit]

Hi there, for future reference, you don't need to edit the Wikipedia:Good article nominations at all to make a nomination, just follow the instructions on that page and add the template to the article talkpage. However, Lady Gaga discography is a list, so doesn't qualify to be a good article. I'd recommend nominating it to be a featured list, but it already is one, so it's gone as far as it can go with formal assessment. --BelovedFreak 12:17, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see you're also trying to nomniate Born This Way (song); that's currently at peer review, so it's probably best to wait until that's finished before a GA nomination.--BelovedFreak 12:19, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem - just another quick tip - anyone is allowed to nominate an article at WP:GAN (not like WP:FAC, where you are usually supposed to have contributed to the article). However, I see that you haven't really contributed to those two articles, at least not recently. As I say, it's not against the rules, but if you find an article you'd like to nominate, and you haven't really been involved in writing it, it's generally a good idea to look at the history to see if anyone's currently working on it, and the talkpage, and asking other editor if they think it's a good idea. If you look at the history for Born This Way (song), you can see that there is some work being done on it. Looking at the talkpage, you can see there's a peer review request, so if I was wanting to get that article to GA, I'd probably drop a note on the talkpage and maybe participate in the peer review. It might be that someone else has put a lot of work into it, is planning to nominate for GA but doesn't feel the article is ready yet for some reason. On the other hand, if an article hasn't been edited for ages and it doesn't look like anyone's working on it, then go for it, although finding out who the main contributors are can still be helpful. And bear in mind that GA reviewers often ask improvements to be made before it's listed, so be prepared! :) --BelovedFreak 12:31, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Jaya discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Digital download (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Unsigned

[edit]

Hi Russart! Thanks for all of your contributions regarding Regine Velasquez; they are much appreciated. I'm afraid I declined your request at Talk:List of awards and nominations received by Regine Velasquez. (You can see the reason why over at that talk page.) I thought I should just let you know why I used the {{unsigned}} template on your post there. It's because every signature has to have at least one link to either your user page or your user talk page, and your signature didn't contain any. (The guideline is at WP:SIGLINK.) It's not such a big deal, but if you could change your signature to include a link to either of those pages it would be much appreciated. Best regards — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 06:27, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of awards and accolades received by Regine Velasquez

[edit]

Hello, Russart 1999. I was looking at the page List of awards and nominations received by Regine Velasquez (because it is a double redirect that needs to be fixed, but that is not why I came here). This page was redirected and protected as a result of an AfD discussion. But then I noticed there is another page, created by you on 22 August 2014‎, List of awards and accolades received by Regine Velasquez. I further noticed two requests you made at Talk:List of awards and nominations received by Regine Velasquez to allow editing of the original page that had been redirected and protected. The first request on 28 February 2014 was declined by Mr. Stradivarius, noting that you should talk to Juliancolton, and/or appeal at WP:DRV. The second request on 12 May 2014 was declined by Jackmcbarn with the response "Just as Mr. Stradivarius told you last time." Then you created an article with a slightly different name.
It does seem strange to me that we have an article redirected and protected as a result of AfD, but also a newer article with a similar name. Do you have any comments about how this came about? Did you go through any of the steps described by Mr. Stradivarius? Thanks. Wdchk (talk) 02:50, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've redirected List of awards and accolades received by Regine Velasquez to the artist page. This really needs to go through the channels I mentioned - we can't just ignore community processes without good reason. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 02:58, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Regien velasquez silver rewind.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Russart 1999,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
