If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wiki Loves Folklore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Just to expand on this - whilst I'm appreciative that this is a Wikimedia project's competition, it still has to meet Wikipedia's notability standards for events, which I'm not sure this one does. It may well be worth adding a mention into the Wikimedia Commons article though, dependent on how notable the event is in the context of that project (I'm not familiar enough with the project to be able to make a judgment on that one way or the other). 198[edit]

Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/198 (number), and do not re-create the article unless the re-created article demonstrates significant new reasons for notability different from the pile of trivial properties you added, which were present in the discussed version of the article, and which the discussion found to be unworthy of notability. —David Eppstein (talk) 01:04, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
I'd disagree on your "notability" requirements. Wikipedia states that an article should have 3 notable reasons, but per your definition, only two really count here. I'm probably missing something Rwoooosh (talk) 01:18, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:WAX. Also do not change closed deletion discussions. —David Eppstein (talk) 02:05, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, but I'd still like to ask what the difference is. And sorry about the deletion discussion lol, I fixed it but its all there in the logs now Rwoooosh (talk) 02:31, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The difference is that nobody has yet called the question of whether 199 is truly notable by taking it to an AfD, nor put in enough effort at finding more interesting things to say about it to say with any certainty that those more interesting things aren't there to be found. The three claims already there are definitely sourceable even though they don't currently have sources, and at least somewhat interesting. More interesting than saying that it's an odd number, at least. —David Eppstein (talk) 06:10, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, ok - basically it's a lower level of importance but also stands on its own. Makes sense, thanks! Rwoooosh (talk) 16:59, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
