Please read WP:EL as what can be a valid external link. Forums, groups, mailing lists, blogs generally are not linkable. Though individual blog posts, if they are rich in information can be. Wikis, if they follow some policy of verification are sometimes used, sometimes are linked.

As for the other links, its an unfortunate byproduct of the way things work. Those were inserted long back, and was verified then. Since they were already verified, people tend not to re-verify them. As such, if things change there, it gets unnoticed. So, if you come across stuff which is out of date or not working, please remove them. Also, if you notice some links that you do think are advertising, remove them at sight as well (leaving a summary in the edit summary box as to why you did it; that way people wont have doubts as to why you did it. --soum ^talk 14:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
