ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Ryoga Godai. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

This is to let you know that the Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song) article has been scheduled as today's featured article for May 20, 2017. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 20, 2017, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1100 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so. I've notified the other FAC nominators. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:19, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to it! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:14, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

songs

Thank you for quality articles around songs and music such as So Yesterday and Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song), performed in collaboration, for lists such as Mandy Moore discography, for GA reviews and for "I wish to capture something like this, someday...", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

It's been so long

Hi there Novice (per your old username)! I took a trip down memory lane in my talk page archive, and jeez, we used to talk a lot back in the day. I hope you are well, and I hope you remember me! I see you haven't made an edit since last year, so hopefully you'll get a notification for this message by email. Since the "golden days" of us editing, we have both retired from this, naturally, you more than I have. I make edits every now and then, but Wiki really hasn't been a "hobby" of mine since, like, 2013. Anyway, it was just so strange reading all those old conversations now. I was just 16 back in 2011. Just a kid writing GAs in a second language, how weird. Crazy how time flies. Again, I hope life is treating you well! Regards, Pancake (talk) 22:39, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:WikiProject Britney Spears participants requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! "Single Chart-Book Complete Edition 1968-2005"

Hi there, I tried to ping you back in January, but was having some issues with pings at the time, and realize you may not have received it. In any event, an editor requested help finding a work on the resource exchange, and I noticed that you have used the same work in your own edits, and may thus be able to help. If so, it would certainly be appreciated. But no worries if not, of course, and apologies if you did, if fact, already see the request. Cheers, --Usernameunique (talk) 06:15, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

Notice

The file File:I Will Always Love You Whitney.ogg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded File:I Will Always Love You Whitney Houston chorus refrain 3.mp3 to replace this portion for use in the Whitney Houston article. Also, usage in "I Will Always Love You" not proven contextually significant to the whole love song, written and sung by Dolly Parton. The portion identifies the 2nd chorus/refrain of the recording, but the whole song is more about the whole lyrics themselves (and what can be conveyed/summarized in text) than about just the refrain/chorus performed, which may already belong in the singer article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
