nowiki tagging and removals

I have deleted a fair number of articles lately :) and in some cases restored and userified them. I've been leaving templates but defanging them by surrounding with <nowiki> .... this I thought was a good approach. However it's fooling the bot maybe? Or maybe 'tis good. Heres an example of it where it removed a template that was surrounded by nowiki tagging. ++Lar: t/c 19:36, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, thanks for pointing this out, I've stopped the bot for the rest of this evening. I'm feeling poorly atm, so I'll recode it to disregard deletion templates within <nowiki> or <!-- --> tags once I'm working again :D. I had meant to turn off the removal of deletion templates in the wrong namespace (there seems to be a couple of problems with the code atm, e.g. the warning is in the wrong place, and it shouldn't warn if the page has been moved). Anyway, thanks again for reporting the problem, I'll try to get around to it soon :). ATB, - Kingpin13 (talk) 19:46, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Happy to help. I think the idea of not deleting templates that are in an incorrect namespace is actually a good idea, generally, so I hope you get things sorted to your satisfaction... Best wishes and thanks for maintaining this bot. ++Lar: t/c 01:12, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Done Bot will now ignore text inside comment and nowiki tags. Also fixed the problem with the message being left in the wrong place, and the page move detection. - Kingpin13 (talk) 20:48, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
