A tag has been placed on Brett H. Coulter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello SJUstudenteditor. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:SJUstudenteditor. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=SJUstudenteditor|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PRAXIDICAE🌈 16:20, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I will rewrite the article in a less biased way I totally understand and NO I am not being compensated for creating this article. I interviewed a director of firm for a school report on my summer internship. I do have a connection to the subject I quite liked his story but I am not getting paid and I will rephrase in an encyclopedic manner. I read the wikipage on how to properly do that and I hope to have this article published for my professor at SJU !

Hi. Thanks for your message and I understand your predicament. If you are doing this through the Wikipedia Education Program, your supervisor/mentor should have informed you of the conflict of interest rules. You do have a conflict of interest, which you need to declare (see the page I referred you to above). This doesn't necessarily prevent you from creating an article, but you would need to be able to write it in a completely unbiased and non-promotional way, and that takes a bit of practice. If writing an article is part of your course, it might be better to choose another topic (though I realise it's not easy to find topics that aren't already represented). There are various places you can look for ideas, e.g. Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Redlist_index and Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/Requested Articles. Deb (talk) 08:21, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi yes!
I have spent the last few hours rephrasing the entire article to sound completely unbiased and informational, and yes I am happy you understand my predicament lol. I have gathered a plethora of historic information and I didn't separate opinion when writing the career history profile I am working on for college. So I would absolutely like to try my hardest to write all the information unbiased. I would love to contribute to Wikipedia the right way and share the information I researched on Mr. Coulter... I hope my revisions find you well !

Copy of reply from Talk:Brett Coulter

[edit]

Copying my reply from talk page of article so you can read it still if it gets deleted.
It seems it has been discussed with you on your talk page already in the past on previous drafts and attempts at creating the article. Right now the article is listing every possible detail and achievement about Coulter and WP:REFBOMBing it with passing mentions. It reads like a CV not an encyclopedia article. First thing you should do is find some sources to show his notability, because even if you get past the promotional tone, notability will need to be passed as well. I would suggest going back to the article of creation process with a draft, and ask for other advice on ways to make improvements there. WikiVirusC(talk) 14:19, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
