Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Captivity of Mangalorean Catholics at Seringapatam, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Sivakasi riots

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sivakasi riots of 1899. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. Thank you. Please stop adding non-free images to articles when they don't satisfy our criteria. Doing so repeatedly can result in you getting blocked. —SpacemanSpiff 04:08, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is your final warning. If you upload any more copyvio images to articles, you will be blocked.—SpacemanSpiff 07:20, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Tamils has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. A tag has been placed on File:Thaai Velu Nachiyar.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpacemanSpiff 17:38, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Community sanctions notification

[edit]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in South Asian social groups. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has enacted a more stringent set of rules. Any administrator may impose sanctions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Request reason:

I withdraw the legal threat I had placed before. Unblock me. Sabarikarthik1991 (talk) 20:04, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Very well. Please do not make any more legal threats on Wikipedia. If you do this, or if you cause any more disruption to the project, your account will be immediately re-blocked. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:19, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What was the reason behind my block. I didn't cause any disruption or engage in vandalism of any content in Wikipedia. Instead I had only noticed that certain unregistered IP users are adding unverifiable biased content and engaging in vandalism and reverted it. Legal threat was placed against such users for the same disruptive behaviour. I withdraw the legal threat now. So unblock me. Sabarikarthik1991 (talk) 20:16, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. You are now unblocked. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:20, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
