Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Sabrina Jeffries. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

COI guidelines explained a little more[edit]

Hi Ms Jeffries. So far, you haven't done any editing that would violate the conflict of interest policy. It is fine for you to change uncontroversial facts (like a birthdate). The policy is really warning more about potentially controversial edits. It would be unwise to remove potentially negative information that was published in a reliable source (like a newspaper or magazine). It would likewise be unwise to fill the text with flowery language describing how wonderful an author you are - that would be self-promotion. If you ever have a question on whether a potential edit would be inappropriate for you to make, you can leave a post on the article talk page. There are several of us who watch the page and would be able to evaluate your proposal as neutral editors and then make the changes in the article. Happy editing!
