Sailoday28, please furnish a citation

[edit]

Greetings, Sailoday28: Please furnish a reference citation for your statement in the Choked flow article about choked isothermal flow occurring when the Mach number equals the square root of Cp/Cv. If you are not familiar with how to format a reference for a Wikipedia article, simply provide your reference on the Discussion page of that article and I will format it and install it for you. If possible, an online reference would be preferable. Regards, - mbeychok 05:54, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope this helps, from potto.org, "1.3.3.5 Isothermal Flow, The earliest reference to isothermal flow was found in Shapiro's Book. If it turned out that no one had done it before Shapiro, this flow model should be called Shapiro's flow. The author invites others to help in this information. The model suggests that the choking occurs at and it appears that Shapiro was the first one to realize this difference compared to the other models. In reality, the flow is choked somewhere between to one for cases that are between Fanno (adiabatic) and isothermal flow. This fact was evident in industrial applications where the expectation of the choking is at Mach one, but can be explained by choking at a lower Mach number. No experimental evidence, known by the undersigned, was ever produced to verify this finding." Please refer to potto as I could not get 1/sqrt to print out. Regards, sailoday_28@yahoo.com
Thanks, Sailoday28. I have now added your reference into the Choked flow article. If you are going to get deeply involved in Wikipedia, you should really take the time to create a user page and learn how to use Discussion pages. To that end, I have included at the top of this page some guidance on using Discussion pages. You might also look at the Edit page for this Discussion page to see how I indented your response as well as how I indented this response of mine to your response. It is also a very good idea to read the Discussion pages of each Wikipedia article and to ask questions there ... or respond to questions raised by others. Regards again. - mbeychok 05:34, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded to your latest comments on the Talk:Choked flow page.

Waiting for your reply to my email

Sailoday28: I sent you an email (at your Yahoo address) on Saturday, Feb 25th, discussing how we could collaborate on your suggestions ... and I am waiting of your reply. - mbeychok 19:43, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have created your user page and your personal sandbox

[edit]

Sailoday28, I have now created your user page and your personal sandbox.

  • You can access your user page from here by clicking on the "user page" tab at the top of this page. You can access your user page from anywhere else in Wikipedia by entering [[User:Sailoday28]] in the "search" box on the left hand side of all Wikipedia pages.
  • You can access your sandbox from your user page by clicking on this link at the top of your user page: [[User:Sailoday28/Sandbox]]. You can access your user page from anywhere else in Wikipedia by entering [[User:Sailoday28/Sandbox]] in the "search" box on the left hand side of all Wikipedia pages.

The Sandbox can be used for practicing the editing or writing of articles, making deletions or erasing the entire contents, etc.

Have fun and let me know if you have any problems. - mbeychok 19:32, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
