Proposed deletion of USS Mormachawk (2)[edit]

The article USS Mormachawk (2) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication on why this ship is notable.

Response to your E-mail[edit]

Your e-mail stated: "I believe the USS Mormachawk(2) is notable for a few reasons. The Mormachawk(2) is notable to all the people who may search for her to find info about their relatives that were taken to different parts of the Pacific during WWII. For those who sailed on her and never returned. It was notable that she had a large roll in helping establish several military bases throughout the Pacific and that she carried troops to Guadalcanal among other battlefronts. HE "Hawk" also served in the Aluetian Islands in Alaska including Attu, 16 miles from Russia. When you search the web there is very little information on the Mormachawk(2) or the Mormachawk(3) and you keep being directed to Wikipedia and the Mormachawk(1) which had her named changed to the USS Arcturus which worked in the Atlantic and not the Pacific. I plan on adding more information on the "Hawk" as I gather it and I hope that other people will do the same as they find the Wikipedia article."

First, while I'm sure that all your points are valid, that does not establish notability for Wikipedia purposes. For an article to stay here, you have to show that notability by citing to reliable, verifiable sources that are independent of the subject of the article.
