Luftwaffe units

[edit]

Hi, I understand your desire to identify those German units that fought in WW2. No doubt that is a valid request. In choosing the correct category name we should also take into consideration how the same category is named for other countries air forces? I just did a brief scan of the US air force and couldn't find an equivalent name like "Roosevelt's Fighter Groups" or "US Fighter Groups of WW2". They are just called "Groups of the United States Air Force" or "Groups of the United States Army Air Force" to denote the historical association. Likewise I suggest to call it the "Luftwaffe Geschwader of the Wehrmacht" or "Luftwaffe Geschwader of the Bundeswehr". Whether or not we should add an English term to explain what a Geschwader is, is another question. Definitely it was not Hitler's Luftwaffe. Göring had always expressed his ownership of the Luftwaffe. An alternative name I could live with is "Luftwaffe Geschwader of the Wehrmacht (1935-1945)". Luft' history

[edit]

Hello. Sorry if this seemed churlish, but the information you provided distorted other cited passages, not just on this section. For instance the citations I put in Here, for example have been tampered with. So they now report to say something which they do not. The problem also occurs here Also the language is not encyclopedic; using exclamation marks in articles is an example of this. This is POV emphasis. You have to remember this is an encyclopedia, not a magazine or book. The style should be neutral and expressionless, for the lack of a better word. See the <.ref><./ref> symbol below the edit box: if you put this in, then cite the author, date and page number of your source in there, then the entire book in the Biblio’ section, then it can stand. Do you see what I mean? Dapi89 (talk) 10:54, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
