As a premise, I assume we all agree:

  1. That the 'definition' section of the article needs more pro-gun POV to achieve balance.
  2. That the topic 'Right to Bear Arms' is one of the most contentious in US politics, and therefore in Wikipedia.
  3. That because of this contention, passionate editors from all POV's are drawn to edit on this article.

So, the questions are:

  1. Do we agree to follow the WP:ARS 'Generally accepted sources' guidelines?
  2. If yes, then how closely shall we follow these guidelines? Strict? Moderate? Loose?
  3. If strict or moderate, where specifically in WP:ARS does a direct quote from a court document meet the guideline.
  4. If loose, then how shall we decide which sources are acceptable?
  5. Are direct quotes from court documents are acceptable, even if better (strict or moderate) WP:ARS sources available?
  6. If yes, what responsibility do we have to verify and explain the context and authority of the court document?
