Moved draft[edit]

Hi, I moved your draft to User:Sam mendoza8910/The Unintentional Segregation by White Flight, as it had some issues:

  • The topic of white flight is already covered on Wikipedia and the topic of white flight and segregation is covered at White_flight#Desegregation_of_schools. However that said, there is merit to having an article on white flight in California and/or Los Angeles, as long as there is enough sourcing to justify this. Offhand you may want to focus specifically on desegregation in California or LA, as this looks like it may have more coverage.
  • This needs more sourcing to help justify this as a standalone article. This is a major, important topic, but there's already an article on white flight that covers desegregation so what you need are enough sources to justify a new article on one specific area.
  • This is written from more of a reflection stance than in the style Wikipedia uses. No rational person would argue that white flight was and still continues to be a bad thing with long reaching negative impacts upon society, however at the same time the content must be written neutrally.
  • There are some formatting issues here and this needs to be checked for grammar and spelling typos.

I hope this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:01, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article The Unintentional Segregation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article reads like a personal essay inspired by a journal article that the editor found interesting. The topic is already covered in various sections of White flight and Desegregation busing, among others. The source used in this article could be used to enhance those existing articles in their respective "Effects" sections.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:47, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • The issues I mentioned earlier are still applicable here. These issues were as follows:
  1. The topic of white flight is already covered on Wikipedia and the topic of white flight and segregation is covered at White_flight#Desegregation_of_schools. However that said, there is merit to having an article on white flight in California and/or Los Angeles, as long as there is enough sourcing to justify this. Offhand you may want to focus specifically on desegregation in California or LA, as this looks like it may have more coverage.
  2. This needs more sourcing to help justify this as a standalone article. This is a major, important topic, but there's already an article on white flight that covers desegregation so what you need are enough sources to justify a new article on one specific area.
  3. This is written from more of a reflection stance than in the style Wikipedia uses. No rational person would argue that white flight was and still continues to be a bad thing with long reaching negative impacts upon society, however at the same time the content must be written neutrally.
  4. There are some formatting issues here and this needs to be checked for grammar and spelling typos.
Unless you resolve these issues, the page will definitely be deleted. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:25, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
