Indus Basin Review[edit]

Samiha, Your page looks great! There is a lot of good information and it is very well structured. My suggestion for what you have is to create a separate reference list and to put all of the papers you mentioned within your text in that reference list. I would also create a separate section for the three portions of the basin. If you can, you should go into more detail about the types of rocks that are present in the sections of the basin. Also, try to include other structural features of the basin. Is there any tectonic activity within the basin? The only tectonic information I am seeing is about the collision of the plates. I hope this helps! Athrower04 (talk) 03:45, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Ashley. I am still working on it. It will be in good shape by 9 AM tomorrow. Please do have a look at it then and let me know what you think of it. I can have your final review before our class on Tuesday. Thanks!!! Samiha.naseem (talk) 03:54, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Will do!Athrower04 (talk) 04:24, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Samiha, Your page is progressing rather well! I feel that each section is rather detailed with all of the pertinent information. There are a few small sentence structure adjustments I feel would be beneficial to your page, and are listed below. Other than that, this page was very informative and you are doing a great job!

1. Under the basin stratigraphy section: -The deepest and oldest rocks penetrated by offshore exploratory wells are Cretaceous in age. What types of rocks are these Cretaceous rocks? -I would take out the parenthases around the rock types in the early part of the paragraph. Integrate them into the sentence.

2. Under Hydrocarbon Potential: -The offshore Indus basin is under-explored. In what sense? As a geologist I understand what you are referring to, but I would expand this sentence. -The next sentence, just put a comma after the word "First". -Gas shows and non-commercial gas quantities have also been reported. The message of this sentence is not exactly clear. -"Occidental". I would put Occidental Petroleum - Presence of seal may be an issue in some areas due to erosional channels. What kind of seal? - It is imperative too understand and establish the potential of source rocks in terms of quantity and quality. Fix "too" to "to"

In the Introduction: -between the hinge line and the Karachi trough shoreline and the Thar slope offshore platform or the Indus river deltaic area. I would put "the area" before between and place a comma after the word "shoreline". Athrower04 (talk) 02:03, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
