re: "most of"
[edit]I rechanged it. I was attempting to avoid the possibility that people would think that the "most of" could be read to anachronistically mean that some among today's Christians keep halakha. Hope that's clearer now. Tomertalk 03:20, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hullo...I've gotta leave for work in like 2 seconds, and it will shortly be Shabath once I return, so let's pick this up after, shall we? I just thought I'd drop you a note asking that you review Peter and the "all manner of unclean" thing again... My understanding is that it didn't have anything to do with eating, whatsoever...with or without Gentiles, but rather whether or not the Gentiles were fit to hear the Gospel. Cheers, Tomertalk 13:47, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeeps! These texts are open to so many interpretations. Yes, the context of Acts has Peter's vision directly relating to him taking the gospel to the gentile Cornelius. However, that he is told to 'kill and eat' unclean food cannot be insignificant. I think whatever this encyclopedia ends up saying in these subjects, either it need to include a hoast of interpretations or be vaugue enough to leave a heap of wriggle-room. Anyway - Shabbat Shalom (I hope I got that right!)--Sandy Scott 14:24, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
This creator of this AfD discussion page had accidentally linked it to the Welsh rugby team of the same name. I have fixed the link and was wondering if you wanted to revise your comment. -- IslaySolomon | talk 17:19, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- I wondered what was going on. Yes, of course. --Sandy Scott 17:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Congratulations
[edit]Nice work on the Scottish reformation article, Sandy. It's really looking in good shape now. Cheers -- Derek Ross | Talk 01:09, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, and thanks for the proof reading as well. I still want to re-write the aftermath section, and put in something about more about theology. Perhaps in a few days.--Sandy Scott 01:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'll second Mr Ross's comments. Congrats! Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi Sandy Scott, as a WikiProject Scotland participant, please check out this this thread and consider adding the bot results page to your watchlist so we can manually update the New Articles page. There are some false results for the first batch, but I'm sure we can collectively tune the rules to improve the output.
If we get enough people watching the results page, we'll be cooking with gas as they say :) This looks like a great helper in finding new Scotland related material. Cheers. --Cactus.man ✍ 02:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Church Guild logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Church Guild logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:28, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Lifeandwork.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Lifeandwork.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
