Women in sports
[edit]Hi there, SarahTHunter. I am impressed by all the articles you have created on people in paralympics. In July and August, WikiProject Women in Red has a strong focus on sports. It would be great if you could help to improve our coverage of women paralympians who lag far behind men on Wikipedia. Hope you can join in and help us along.--Ipigott (talk) 15:23, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for becoming a member of Women in Red. I see you have already created Yuliya Halinska. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:04, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Women in Sports
[edit]Hello SarahTHunter - I saw your interest in Women in Sports at Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Members. It looks like you're already signed up for Women's sport project, but I wanted to let you know there are also a several taskforces for specific sports: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women's sport/Task forces and opportunity to create new ones for other sports like Paralympics, athletics, and swimming. See, for example -- how these can be built out:
Thank you for your contributions to women's football/soccer articles. I thought I'd let you know about the Women's Football/Soccer Task Force (WP:WOSO), a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of women's football/soccer. If you would like to participate, join by visiting the Members page. Thanks! |

DYK for Natalie Simanowski
[edit]On 28 August 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Natalie Simanowski, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Natalie Simanowski began her "second life" as a Paralympian cyclist after being attacked by someone described as a "psychopath"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Natalie Simanowski. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Natalie Simanowski), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi i correct them. now you can use.
- That's brilliant, thank you.
- I've also noticed that there are other documents for championships' results in the German Wikipedia - the one that I found was the 2006 results document which can't be opened but it could be fixable via the web archive program.
World Para Athletics Championships
[edit]Hello Sarah. I cleaned the table. I want to ask, do you have the results of 2002 and the medal table of the first three periods? In this case, it will be possible to make articles. Is this table of medals related to all courses or from 2006 to 2019? Thank you for your effort.Ollimpica (talk) 10:21, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- The results for the 2002 championships should be in one of the links provided under the hosts table. I can't access the 2006 IPC World champs because there seems to be an issue saying that the file is unavailable (I believe that the Wayback Machine (I think that's what it's called) would be useful to retrieve this - the link for the 2006 champs results is in the German wikipedia page). The 1998 World Champs results is unknown, I've tried looking on Google but nothing seems to come up unless there is a good website that should have athletics competitions results archive (International Paralympic Committee has these but it goes as far as the 2011 champs). The table of medals is the combined total medals won between 1994 to 2019 excluding 1998 as before mentioned. I hope this all makes sense to you. SarahTHunter (talk) 15:06, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
[edit]Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |

Para Medals
[edit]you're welcome. This site lists the medals of a large number of world para competitions that are almost nowhere else. But the bad news is that with the end of the games (like the Asian games), all the information on the site will be deleted in less than a few days. I am giving a link to some of the world tournament table. If you are interested, save them and add them later in the articles.
If you want to look for them one by one and collect them together, it will take weeks. But now it is ready. But it is very difficult to save. Either you have to copy in Word or save the whole page.I'm not very familiar with the environment here or I would have created a table of them all.

WikiProject Swimming revitalization
[edit]Hi SarahTHunter, I am messaging you because you are one of the only members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Swimming. I am trying to revitalize the project and have begun to do that by clearing the entire >4000 long unassessed article quality backlog. I have consolidated the goals/todos that already existed in the project (getting rid of the unrealistic ones and replacing them with feasible goals), and created a roadmap for their implementation. Please could you let me know if you would like to assign yourself to a task or have any feedback on the roadmap or the project in general? It is a wonderful world (talk) 11:16, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- This sounds like an interesting project to take part in. I'll try my best to help out with it and the roadmap looks great and well presented. I'd like to help out with competitive swimmer articles that don't have infoboxes as I think this would be an easy, fun and rewarding job to do (if you have a link for this task then that would be great). Thanks for offering me the opportunity to help! SarahTHunter (talk) 15:45, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your interest! I'm glad you think the roadmap looks good. I'm glad I can work with at least one other person on this :)
- There does exist a Category:Swimming articles without infoboxes, which currently contains 16 articles and is populated by adding needs-infobox=yes to the WikiProject Swimming template. They are a great 16 articles to start with, but it is far from an exhaustive list. Luckily, since I am also assessing articles importance right now, this is a parameter I will be adding a lot of swimming biographies without infoboxes, so it should fill up the category a bit more. I will prioritize assessing the importance of swimming biographies so that you will have a bit more to work with.
- Are you happy for me to assign you to the task on the roadmap? I will just mention that you are generally working on it when you have the time. It is a wonderful world (talk) 16:57, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, absolutely. SarahTHunter (talk) 16:08, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

- I've made a headstart yesterday afternoon by adding infoboxes to three swimmers but I can't take off the articles without infoboxes category - they're on display in their talkpages. Do you know how to remove the tags? I've tried editing but it doesn't show up in the talkpage? SarahTHunter (talk) 09:47, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, go on the articles talk page -> edit source -> remove
needs-infobox=yes
. Let me know if this makes sense. It is a wonderful world (talk) 14:14, 26 February 2024 (UTC)- Oh yes, I see it now. I was looking at the bottom rather than the article space. Thank you for your help. SarahTHunter (talk) 15:59, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Sarah, I have been struggling to find swimmers without infoboxes when assessing the importance of articles, so I found a wiki search query which identifies pages which are in the category "swimmers", but do not contain "infobox" in their wikitext. The query is:
-insource:"infobox" -category:"swimmers"
- This will allow many more biographies without infoboxes to be found :) It is a wonderful world (talk) 10:22, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I've made a head start by starting from swimmers at the 2000 Summer Olympics and working my way forward. Don't worry if you can't find any more biographies without infoboxes as I've found 60-70 swimmers without infoboxes in that category alone (that's from starting from A to P - a few of them were Olympic medalists without infoboxes!). I'm making a handwritten list of swimmers that I've done so far too just to keep on track with what I'm doing. SarahTHunter (talk) 15:16, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Ah awesome! It is a wonderful world (talk) 15:18, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello again, I've finished doing swimmers and now working on water polo players. I've been looking at the Category:Swimmers without infoboxes in the WikiProject Swimming's task page but I've noticed that some already have swimmer infoboxes. Should I add a brand new swimmer infobox or remove the notice even though they've been added by a bot? SarahTHunter (talk) 07:27, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Sarah, I assume you mean Category:Swimming articles without infoboxes. The pages get added to that category when the WikiProject Swimming template parameter
needs-infobox=yes
. As far as I am aware, there is no bot that automatically adds this parameter, and if the parameter exists on a page with an infobox, it should be removed or changed toneeds-infobox=no
. It is a wonderful world (talk) 10:12, 26 April 2024 (UTC)- Just to let you know, I've completed adding infoboxes to swimmers (all strokes), synchronized swimmers, divers and water polo players. I was wondering what other swimming articles/categories (for example, teams or coaches - something that I haven't done) that you'd like to me sort out. If there aren't any others then that's my work all cut out as I've finished the articles without infoboxes task! Thanks, SarahTHunter (talk) 10:26, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
- That's awesome! I will update the roadmap with this task as completed now. Thank you so much!
- I have almost upped by edit count enough to use auto wiki browser, so I should also be able to get some of the tasks that require semi-automation done soon.
- Once again, you are awesome! I hope you have a great day. It is a wonderful world (talk) 11:29, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
