Blocking Istina[edit]

Hi, you recently blocked Istina. You may not be aware that after warnings were posted on the user's talk page, the user went on to make valid edits (see the Zvornik history page). I thin that we should give him/her a second chance and that s/he might have got a bit excited when he/she discovered teh edit function and that they might now be prepared to work within the rules. Unless you're aware that the IP address has been used to conduct other vandalism, could you consider unblocking him/her. I think that blocking him/her might just discourage them from becoming an active and useful wikipedian. I'm prepared to keep an eye on Istina's edits to make sure that they don't continue vandalising. Adz 04:03, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on her/him. I only noticed it because I had one of the articles on my watchlist. If s/he keeps it up I'll be sure to let you know. I'm only giving him/her the benefit of the doubt because s/he appears to have made an effort to do the right thing, but if it turns out that they continue to be a problem wikipedian then I have no hesitation in you blocking her/him again.

User:Pigsonthewing[edit]

Given that I have already taken the high road, informed an admin and even GOT SO FED UP I'VE STOPPED EDITING THE WIKI, I can't see there is any other option availible to me but to edit his user page. I'm not going to sit here and be slandered by User:Pigsonthewing. Leonig Mig 06:35, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Links to edit history[edit]

The link to your edit history which you put in whenever you sign, can be rather disconcerting when scrolling an article... Other than that, great work! --Wulf 06:08, September 8, 2005 (UTC)

Clarification:
1. The code is this long when seen while editing "<font face="Copperplate Gothic Bold" color=#1F85FF>Sasquatch</font>]]<span style="background-color:#001E6F">[[User_talk:Sasquatch|<font color=#C0C0C0>{{unicode|讲}}</font>]][[Special:Contributions/Sasquatch|<font color=#C0C0C0>{{unicode|看}}</font>]]</span>"
2. The black box stands out against the rest of the page while scrolling, and can be slightly disconcerting, as one may think it is an image, and go back up on the page to look for it, only to see it is just a link your contributions... --Wulf 03:03, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for helping us deal w/ the Barbara Schwarz issue[edit]

Now if you could help us deal with the fact that the vandals have begun to slander anybody who takes an opposite point of view, like User:Tilman or Mark Gallagher. Oh, and they've also said some pretty nasty things about you, since you're the one who stopped them from re-editing the article. They're accusing people of libel and misinformation (and other fun stuff - they've dragged in David Touretzky as a punching bag), but I don't know how to go about reporting this nonsense to the admins... 206.114.20.121 19:19, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop this user[edit]

This user TJive Contribs keeps blindly reverting edits not agreeing with his conservative pro-American political opinion, often cutting off whole sections on American atrocities. He even reverted back spelling mistakes and broken links without checking.

Do you realize that this anon that apparently turned your attention my way is the same one as the anon who [I believe that] you just blocked for a week a few days ago? Not only is he evading his block but he had been vandalizing userpages and reverting changes I made to articles irrespective of content. He is a fanatical Chinese nationalist that I knew from another forum and so has been trolling my user/talk pages and following my edits. Most of his contributions are attempting to insert pro-Chinese or anti-American (literally, as in a horrible article called "Americofascism") POV and he cusses out anyone who edits his contributions. --TJive 17:26, September 11, 2005 (UTC)

I might have a strong love for China, but I at least try to create a balanced article and acknowledge opposing views. You on the other hand, revert my edits with no mercy, and it seems like you specifically hunt down whatever I wrote, and cut everything you don't agree with. Do you have any evidence that I try to insert "anti-American" or "pro-Chinese" POV? This is Wikipedia, not Conservapedia, and inserting properly addressed opposing views is not a crime. You are the one inserting right-winged POV, insisting calling Cuba's government the "Castro regime", and repeatly cutting out sections you don't like [1] [2][3].

Benjamin Gatti[edit]

I have fixed the broken diff #3. I maintain that his initial edit, while slightly different wording, is nevertheless essentially the same POV point he's repeatedly been reverted on. Slightly altering wording in pursuit of forcing through the same rhetoric that's been reverted is gaming the system and as such no better than a blind revert, in my opinion. In addition to fixing the broken diff I've asked you to reconsider your decision on the 3RR page. I'll respect your choice in any case, but wanted to bring the fix at least to your attention. Thanks. · Katefan0(scribble) 15:14, September 12, 2005 (UTC)

Unprotection[edit]

Please don't point people to The Wrong Version and imply that they should follow it (your "take this to the admin that originally protected it" exactly matches the first step on that page). That page is a list of things that people shouldn't do. The editor that you "helped" has now done half of the things listed in that page's first paragraph, following your instructions to do what it says. Uncle G 11:46, 13 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

They do exist! Although I would have deleted it, too. :-) android79 23:28, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The charter is here. (Relating to Esperanza)[edit]

Hello Sasquatch, the Charter for Esperanza is up. Take a looksie :) Redwolf24 (talk) 02:57, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza made less bureaucratic[edit]

Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Also, I have added an advisory committee, of four members, with limited power besides watching over the admin general and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Please look at the ammended charter, and I would love a comment. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:30, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Hey. I was looking through the block log and noticed you unblocked and reblocked Mike Garcia, but it looks like you might have used the incorrect syntax to unblock him. Just a heads up. [4] BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 00:37, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The last time I'm spamming you all with Esperanza stuff[edit]

Hello Sasquatch. As you may or may not know, there have been some troubles with Esperanza. So now, as a last ditch to save the community, please vote at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Reform on all neccisary polls. P.S. I'm very sorry for spamming you all with these messages, and this will be the last time. I recommend putting ESP on your watchlist. Cheers and please look at that, let's stop the civil war then. Sorry to bother you ...[edit]

Could you revert John McW's 4th revert at Israel? Would I be violating 3RR if I used a 4th revert to undo his 4th? Marsden 04:38, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was anon for one more -- forgot to sign in. Reverts are over geographical boundaries of Israel -- John McW removes references to Gaza Strip and West Bank. Marsden 04:45, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

thanks[edit]

thank you for showing me that 3RR webpage. Does this apply to that marsden guy too? he is messing up pages under his name, and also under an address 69.something. if keeps doing this will they both be blocked? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by John McW (talkcontribs) 04:54, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

I looked at the history tab on this page and followed it back and it looks like this mardsen guy put this stuff in two days ago and keeps putting it back in. Does that also add to his total? you put it back in - do you agree with what he's saying? - John.

Beevil105[edit]

Heyo I meant to make my minor changes to the anti-Communism article. Just a heads-up before I revert it back, so you don't still think i'm screwing around with the wiki. I gave it a blurb at the bottom of the talk page.

Feel like rolling back Merkey again?[edit]

I actually made some good progress amid his bluster of ranting edits to the page about himself. But the latest couple reintroduce non-encyclopedic stuff. I saw you did one restoration of Jeffrey Vernon Merkey; if you feel like doing a couple more... well, cool. I've honestly never imagined that someone would vandalize a page about themselves (I got chastized mildly for doing a bit too much on the one about me; but even there, I don't think any edit has actually been contentious). Jdfwolff etc[edit]

I saw his reply to your very kind and low-key reminder.

Perhaps you could talk to him some more? I posted additional comments on the article's talk page.

Joaquin Murietta 00:29, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks anyway.

My RfA[edit]

Sasquatch, you possibly evil one-- Thank you for your comments concerning my RfA. I understand people's concerns, and if not promoted, hope to prove to those that opposed me that I would make a valued admin. Thank you for your time. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 14:14, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. And don't worry, I didn't read any condescension into your comments. I'll try not to mess up. Cheers. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 18:44, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

==Who's RfA== Thank you for supporting my masters RfA. He appreciates your support and comments and looks forward to better serving Wikipedia the best he can. Of course I will be doing all of the real work. He would have responded to you directly, but he is currently out of town, and wanted to thank you asap. Thanks again. --Who's mop?¿? 21:03, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wik/Rivarez etc etc sockpuppet frenzy[edit]

Hi. Can I ask you to take a look at this please - there are multiple sockpuppets of the above editor that require simultaneous banning. --Centauri 22:44, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen enough of NoPuzzleStrangerWik's modus operandi while editing Sealand to know its the same person. The hysterical obsession with the Sealand info box is a dead giveaway, as is the use false edit summaries, ignoring consensus and being generally obnoxious. I believe he's also editing the same group of articles. --Centauri 22:56, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. In case you haven't looked recently, Wik now has up to 9 sockpuppets recorded at [5], and seems to be creating them for single edits/reverts. --Centauri 00:59, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Spamlist![edit]

Ah, my first ever spam mass produced and mailed to the spamlist. Well first of all let me re-state that we have an irc channel, #wp-esperanza, and its been rather empty, so I'd appreciate it if you come, even if you just idle about. Now, the evil polls have closed, and I left a justification note for running the evil polls. Nothing has really changed, but at least I have somewhat of a consensus. I hope to figure out a way to overturn my power to JCarriker somehow, I'll figure out a way :-) Meanwhile, I've been busy reforming the mediation system where I am the chairman now, er, acting chairman. Enjoy your spam, with extra vikings. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:40, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I had to change your userpage[edit]

Hello. I was orphaning some images so that they could be safely deleted (because there are PNG versions with higher resolution) and so I had to change them on your userpage. I hope you don't mind.
Yes, it looks almost (if not exactly) the same as before, but I don't want to risk being scolded again for editing someone else's userpage... --Fibonacci 17:44, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My user page is open to anyone to improve =) I'm more lax than some people (who seem too tight about things). As long as you aren't adding flacid penis images, you are free to do what you will to my user page =) Regards and cheers! Sasquatcht|c 21:58, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, thank you! :D --Fibonacci 23:36, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

sorry for the copy and paste[edit]

I figured that the copy-and-paste move I made at Fitler Square probably wasn't a good idea. But at the same time, it seemed harmless because the article had just been created, so it's not as if there was any edit history to be lost. I appreciate the correction, but I'm wondering if it was really necessary. Izzycat 00:01, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Resignation[edit]

Hello spam list, look at this. Essjay is the new leader of Esperanza, and I'm interested in seeing how he runs it. I'm busy doing other work... Please comment at that talk page there. I will still probably run the spamlist though. Redwolf24 (talk) 22:59, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You voted to delete Systemwars.com and it was deleted. However, Tony Sidaway has decided that your vote and the consensus that agreed with you was insufficient. He has recreated the article in violation of policy and relisted it for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Systemwars.com (second version). Please take a look. - Tεxτurε 15:44, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Snow"[edit]

Re the Snow discussion on today's AfD, you could see also The Phoenix and the Turtle, which (so far as I can tell) is the only Shakespeare with full text.

I accept your point about policy, but I will be a little sad when you remove the text from this article, as only a stub will be left. AndyJones 17:04, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Newest Mediators[edit]

Hello Sasquatch, welcome to the WP:MC. I hope you read WP:M and look over WP:RFM. I will notify you upon case assignation, though you're always welcome to take a case without being assigned. Enjoy and you know where to find me if you have questions. Ed Poor, Catherine, Andre, Improv, and Asbestos, and Flcelloguy would be willing to help out too I'm sure. Again, welcome! Advisory Committee election deadline set[edit]

Our new admin general, Essjay, has set the date for the advisory committee elections, that date being October 7th. By UTC it is October 5th right now. So see WP:ESP/E for voting in two days, and add yourself to the list if you're interested in running. On a personal note, I'm considering running, as I only resigned as admin general because of time. I'm sure I could help out on the advisory committee... Anywho, watchlist that page, and be sure to read the voting method too. Regards, Redwolf24 (talk) 01:11, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Help please[edit]

I am not quite sure how to handle the situation I have found myself in at User talk:Moriori#130.194.13.105 block. I blocked because of vandalism, but there seems to be innocent co-user/s. Suggestions? Moriori 07:56, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Netvigator open proxies?[edit]

Heya, you blocked a number of IPs in 218.102/16 as open proxies, however I can't verify this, they seem pretty closed to me. What am I missing? --fvw* 13:03, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hmm... looks like i may have been a bit hasty. Anyways, those IPs are being used by the Microwave auditory effect/Frey effect vandal who insists that the government is trying to read and control our minds using electromagnetic radiation and what not. I will impose a more suitable block on the IPs used as they are not truly open (even though port 8080 is open on those IPs). Sasquatcht|c 20:07, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for checking. By the way, if you'll forgive my nagging, 218.102.21.186 (talk · contribs) and 218.102.23.117 (talk · contribs) are still blocked indefinitely. --fvw* 21:56, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
