Hi & Happy New Year[edit]

Hi SatuSuro, thanks for the New Year wishes - hope you have a great one yourself. I just down south looking at the Albany Wind Farm yesterday, and thought the wiki page needed a few edits.

Christmas and New Year[edit]

Merry belated Christmas and a happy New Year! Thanks for the comment at the merchandise board. BTW, seeing as you were here in the 1990s you may remember this. I'm very surprised we didn't have an article on it. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 16:11, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Seasons greetings[edit]

Hey, how are you going?

I've signed up with WAEC for the next state election, but haven't heard anything back so not sure where that's at. Am moving closer in to the city so running Jarrahdale polling station again doesn't seem like such a good idea.

Not sure what you're talking about re the refs - most of my issue with the text as it stood was it had a lot of "many people", "various issues" etc. Tried to hone the language a bit to be more precise on that front. Haven't really changed much substantive except where I felt the text was imprecise, redundant given text elsewhere in the section or just plain incorrect. Also added the bit about the decided use of the Florence Hummerston building.

I'm sure I read something recently about the City Gatekeepers having a mild tantrum and refusing to do any more protests because numbers were dwindling at the rallies, but I can't find the source, so gave up on that one.

Next step on the article would be to flesh out the description of the major features and layout, from the intro section, down in the one I've provided further below. But that's a task for another day.

Whole article could do with some more logical arrangement and sectioning, now I think of it.

What are your thoughts? - Mark 15:16, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

If they stop, it is usually best to not warn further. If the vandalism is damaging to Wikipedia, (somewhat subjective here), one might add a template:uw-vand4im, or report them to wp:aiv immediately. For disclosure of confidential information, such as credit card numbers, passwords, or such, use Wikipedia:Requests for oversight and avoid drawing attention to the information until oversight deletes it. Huh?[edit]

Well, this is a unique case at Barracks Arch. I have changed this to residential building since that might be a better category. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:08, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The category is defining its use when built. Hence the residential classification. Buildings do change usage over time. After doing several thousand over these, probably over 10,000, this one is unique so far. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:13, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Categories are based on articles in the end. So if the article is wrong, then there will be issues with the categories. If the article is wrong, then it needs to be fixed. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:20, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Traditions of Indonesia[edit]

Thank you for english proof reading of Traditions of Indonesia, sometimes I forgot to spell check it first in MS word. I'm agree with you this article have too many issues to begin with. I'm creating sub sections to keep me remember which one to expand, but then I got distracted and forgot about it completely until recently. This article was meant as somekind of collections of Indonesian traditions that its sections will refer to main articles such as arisan or slametan. If Culture of Indonesia deal with both tangible and intangible aspects of Indonesian culture from architecture, art, dances, paintings, cuisine, to beliefs, religions and philosophy; the traditions articles was meant to covers the rituals and customs that is Indonesian's, that would include arisan, slametan, nujuh bulanan, 40 harian, to annual festivals such as nyepi and mudik lebaran. I just got a book "Cultural Shock, Indonesia" that might be a good source for references. I will try to put more references (I hope I'll not get distracted again by work or other wikipedia articles). Thank you for helping me out, cheers.Gunkarta (talk) 16:14, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Quick reply[edit]

Hi SatuSuro, and thanks for the messages.

I've got a huge backlog of people to reply to. I kind of forgot about keeping up with them while writing my 5th dyk article, a painting by Andy Warhol. (That's 5 dyks in 6 years - I average 0.83 quality contributions per annum!) Naturally enough, I am now trying to find a species of ant that lives nowhere else but on Uotsuri-shima, one of the Senkaku Islands. (I find my range of interests hilariously broad, so it's fine by me if other people do too. )

At this point, I'm afraid we may have to disagree about the notability of all pastoral leases. If you do have the information that you refer to in document form, I'd really like to read it, when ever it is available. If you could send me an email, I'll reply back from my WP-specific email address so you can send it to me.

One of the biggest drawbacks of being someone who will freely admit their own mistakes is that it makes you look mistake-prone compared to someone who makes the same number of mistakes but will not admit to them. It certainly was a mistake to nominate that article. I could take the easy way out and withdraw the nomination, but that would be cutting short a discussion that may be useful in future. If letting the discussion go on might reflect poorly on me, well tough luck for me. In the meantime, I'll continue improving the article as best I can.

Thanks again, Pete aka --Shirt58 (talk) 04:53, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sats. I'm going through my talk-page archives to clear up all the unresolved issues that lurk within. First on the list is this one, in which I promised that I would let you know if I submitted a CfD. Categories[edit]

Hi could we have a discussion about categories please? I think there is a small problem, and it would be good if we could assume WP:AGF and try to sort the issue out. cheers sats 09:44, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if you can see the edits to the NSW passenger coach/rolling stock - I hope they seem a reasonable change from the earlier categories. I try to separate items that have partial relationship/ from those that are really stretching the 'fit'. sats 12:16, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with the changes you have made. I have picked a category which is the best 'fit' I could find, maybe not always the most relevant but is a neccessity when creating a new article to keep the bots at bay.Mo7838 (talk) 22:57, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trans-Australian[edit]

March 2013[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give North West Coast a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. StAnselm (talk) 08:49, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I tried doing the move, but now it won't let me because the destination page is blocking it. StAnselm (talk) 09:11, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
CSD#G6 {{db-move}} is what you need. But what is the common name... Should it actually be North West (Tasmania), North West Coast (Tasmania) or North West Tasmania? The-Pope (talk) 11:26, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WA LC[edit]

No problems; it is kind of weird that it's the only state house that does the Senate fixed terms thing. As an aside, Aldridge and Grills will probably enter sooner since I presume there will be recounts for Davies and Duncan, and they were each next on those respective tickets last time. Pardon me if I seem confused, but at Ohconfucius' talk page you said "if you had fronted up somewhere like the Australian noticeboard and explained the reason as to why Australian english no longer exists as a user category". Were you talking about Category:User en-au or something completely different? Hows it going? I think all the towns that are receival sites are now in the category. Whats next? Hughesdarren (talk) 12:52, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Why do we need Category:Grain industry of Western Australia at all? The only direct member article Wheatbelt railway lines of Western Australia is also in the sub-category Category:Wheatbelt (Western Australia)‎, and that is in the parent Category:Agriculture in Western Australia, so would you agree to upmerge to that parent? If so I can again do it immediately by WP:C2E. – Fayenatic London 18:15, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
