December 2022[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning has been reverted.
Your edit here to Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline (see also this list of frequently-discussed sources). The reference(s) you added or changed (https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_handhelds, https://harvest-moon.fandom.com/wiki/Bachelors_(ANB), https://harvest-moon.fandom.com/wiki/Bachelorettes_(ANB)) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:36, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Crinoline[edit]

Just a friendly note - I know you made a lot of extensive edits in good faith, and I appreciate that, but there are a number of issues that you need to be aware of.

Firstly, the article uses a citation model that may be unfamiliar, but should be retained where possible when making edits.

Also, the main language of the article is in British English, so this should be respected.

Also, please do not remove dates or sources from existing citations as you did with the Cork Examiner citation for example.

Also, the lede to a long article is not necessarily supposed to be cited, it is designed to summarise what is in the main body of the article (where the citations may be found).

The article has been assessed and examined for Good Article status, so all this has been addressed already.

Also, please do not use external links as citations or references - please follow the formatting of the citations already in the article. Wikipedia has a policy about external links which strongly discourages having external links in the body of an article. I do have to note that while Janice Formichella is clearly knowledgeable, her personal blog cannot be considered a reliable source (especially not when there are many, many books and museum websites and significant academic essays on the topic already existing). She may be linked to a museum, but it is a very minor museum, and her blog does not appear to be part of the museum website - and even more worryingly, her blog is linked to a retail website, which to many people would look like the idea was to promote Janice's sales. So unfortunately, the edits had to be reverted. I'm sorry, as I know you were trying to do what you thought was an improvement, but honestly, this is a Good Article that has been assessed and vetted by other editors, so if you believe there are genuine issues, please raise them on the article Talk Page instead of making major alterations to the article itself.
