Scottish Ambulance Service[edit]

Hi, you created an excellent image for the Scottish ambulance Service Page showing the split of divisions, as the north West and North East have (finally) Merged, would you possibly be able to rejig it to reflect the new split of divisions? Thanks Dave Polstar (talk) 11:48, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks Polstar, Thanks for your message. I've already started it and should be finished in a couple of days.User:Scanbus (talk) 15:15, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:EMRS.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:EMRS.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Vanhoollogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Vanhoollogo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:40, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Wright Bros.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Wright Bros.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (TC) 02:05, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Logo scotamb.gif)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo scotamb.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. File source problem with File:Hertzmikkola.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Hertzmikkola.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:39, 2 May 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 18:39, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:34, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Argyll Ferries[edit]

Hi Scanbus,

Our company is "Argyll Ferries" and has been since 1988. We registered it in 1988 and have had that corporate identity ever since in one form or another.

When you posted your contribution about "Argyll Ferries" on Wikipedia, it was only fair that we mentioned our company.

The fact that CalMac have registered their version of "Argyll Ferries Ltd" at Companies House is something we are hoping to resolve. We have offered to surrender our corporate name for a nominal one pound plus a donation to a registered charity. We are awaiting a response from CalMac since the issue was brought to our attention on 4th June 2011.

As things stand, I would be obliged if you could post a complete picture of "Argyll Ferries" or completely remove all reference to it on Wiki until the issue of our company is resolved.

Many thanks.

Russ McLean — Preceding unsigned comment added by Russ McLean (talkcontribs) 20:41, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Russ, thanks for your comment, I feel that this specific Wiki article is about the CalMac entity 'Argyll Ferries Ltd', and is not about the history of the name 'Argyll Ferries Ltd' in general. I feel removing the whole article is counter productive as the CalMac entity is relevant and is indeed a topical issue at the moment. At Companies House, the only currently registered 'Argyll Ferries Ltd' is the CalMac one, however, I have added a small section to the article regarding the dispute surrounding the name.scanbus (talk) 09:07, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Scanbus,
Thanks for the update. With respect this issue isn't about what any of us feel. It is about facts. The Wikipedia is a marvellous resource, but there is a big world beyond the virtual computer references. That includes legal corporate rights. Ours appear to have been abrogated and subsumed in relation to the Argyll Ferries article. The amendment whilst gentle and well intentioned, was worded in a way which was almost derogatory.
I would ask, as this issue has the possibility to become sub judice, in both Scotland and California where I understand Wikipedia is based, it should be handled delicately and cautiously.
Either ALL of the information regarding the company Argyll Ferries, or NONE of it should be posted. At least until the legal side of the matter has been settled. A one sided Wikipedia reference is bias, and places in the public domain something that is neither balanced, complete, accurate, nor fully true.
Hopefully this helps.
Best regards,
Russ McLean — Preceding unsigned comment added by Russ McLean (talkcontribs) 10:53, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Seven Troop (book), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ahunt (talk) 16:09, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)[edit]

The Wikipedia Library gets Wikipedia editors free access to reliable sources that are behind paywalls. Because you are signed on as a medical editor, I thought you'd want to know about our most recent donation from Cochrane Collaboration.

  • Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization that conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.
  • Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account.
  • If you are still active as a medical editor, come and sign up :)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Ford Escort[edit]

Hi. Can you indicate where it has been discussed before about the Ford Escort generations and mark numbers? I can't find that information on the talk page of the article where it should be, nor a link to a discussion. The fact that in Great Britain (I suppose) the 1995 model was called Mark 6 doesn't mean that in the article it should be referred to as a new generation. We have a similar case in the Ford Fiesta article, where Mark 4 and Mark 5 models (by the British designation) are commonly grouped under the fourth generation section. (We can simply mention that in the 1995 facelift section.) Then, in the following two sections they are differentiated with claims whether how it was known internationally and how it was known in Britain. In either case, I think that these claims should be backed up with references, not argued with a majority of opinions. Also, there should be no prices described in the articles, according to WP:NOPRICES. Regards, BaboneCar (talk) 15:29, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the issue was briefly discussed back in 2006 and can be found on the talk page (here>> Talk:Ford Escort (Europe)#Mark 4, Mark 5, Mark 6????? - TOO CONFUSING). Two users bothered to reply and both disagreed that it should be simplified. The Mk1 and Mk2 share many parts and the Mk6 and Mk5 are pretty much the same vehicle as the Mk4 with facelifts. All the models borrow many details from the previous. Should we do away with the 'Mk' sections in the article? The 1995 facelift is widely known, (not just in the UK) as the Mk6. The article has had the 'Mk6' section you are contesting since 2006 with no complaints or arguments so therefore I suggest the article remain as-is and if you still believe it should be changed then it should be properly discussed on the talk page first. scanbus (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I personally can't agree that the Mark 6 should be considered a new generation, but will accept the article in its current form at least for the moment. I found this independent reference that regards the models by mark numbers like they are currently described in the article and I am considering adding it there. I think that there should be consistency with the Fiesta article when speaking about mark numbers and generations, therefore this is the reason I will accept the current form. Disambiguation link notification for January 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2021 British Rally Championship, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Duns. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice

The article Soteria Search and Rescue has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Multiple consortia are formed both in the UK and globally to bid for government contracts. A non-winning consortium, even one like this that because preferred bidder but was ultimately unsuccessful, cannot be notable. The Consortia is now dissolved and likely long-forgotten by its member organisations. Any relevant information relating to the consortia, if considered notable, could be incorporated into the main Thales article

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 91.125.44.68 (talk) 09:31, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
