ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Pyridoxine poisoning

  1. The article's bolded words are misleading because there is evidence that pyridoxine is much more toxic than pyridoxal. Most articles, on toxicity that is, mention pyridoxine in their title. To use the more general label "B6" is an attempt to scare people away from supplementation. Whether that's a good thing is not what I want to discuss, nor whether you think this is a fair analysis (I'm not saying it is done with evil intent). But it is still a subtle form of misinformation or at least imprecision. Industrially, a substance is manufactured to act in stead of a vitamin; the ill effects of said substance then infect and damage the name of the target vitamin (which is a different molecule!).
  2. With synthetic I mean pyridoxine specifically as opposed to forms of pyridoxal and pyridoxamide, because the most common synthetic form is the former. I do not mean that there is a difference between synthetic [any molecule] and natural [same molecule]. I care to discuss about molecular structure only.
  3. I would genuinely be very interested in sources about toxicity of pyridoxal. Question for the article is, how do toxic doses of pyridoxal compare to pyridoxine. I think the article is missing this clear distinction.

Cusper Page Recent Edits

Hey Scarpy, I am the user has been working with you and other admin editors on the cusper page. It appears that ImoutoCompAlex instead of deleting the 1992-1998 range, like he/she did before, has updated the page to include a new range stating "Genzennials of 1991-2001 as stated by journalism graduates from the University of Westminster. If Wikipedia is truly against gatekeeping then you won't play favorites by isolating, gatekeeping and labeling 1991 borns as "old' and "non-cuspers" but including 1992 in the cuspers club. This is why hard cutiffs are a problem when talking about microgenerations."

While I have no problem with Alex finding a valid source that includes 1991, I don't believe a self-published blog range makes the cut. I agreed to leave out the Ketchum & WGSN sources since they were self-published by their respective marketing institutions. So while I don't want to go upset Alex since they seem to be taking this very personally from how she spoke to me on the cusper talk page, I don't think this blog is considered an academic source. If these marketing institutions don't make the cut, I am not sure why a blog of recent college grads would be worthwhile to include 2600:1700:C710:21E0:5EB:4FD0:212:A3B8 (talk) 02:58, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Update, it appears the user Some1 took down the blog source, explaining to ImoutoCompAlex that the self-published source wasn't sufficient. Alex then retaliated and took down the source from the page again. I undid Alex's edit, but I fear from how they are speaking on the cusper talk page and in the summary for their edit reasons that the user will continue this editing war despite the consensus reached in the talk page. By the way - per Some1's suggestion - I made a username so that my signature would be easier to recognize Centennial357 (talk) 04:12, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

I went and undid the deletion but Alex is making it clear that they are not letting this go even though I followed the proper channels for these sources. Centennial357 (talk) 12:46, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
