Hello, Schaefer at SCHOTT. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Ariadacapo (talk) 08:12, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Hello. You described your recent edits to Schott AG as "translated from German Wikipedia article". Yet surely it cannot have escaped you that you were reverting to your revision 924920194 from last October (diff), erasing 20 edits that have occurred since, in which multiple issues in your contributions were pointed out and fixed. When you are reverting edits:
- You must make it clear that you are reverting
- You must explain, at least briefly, why you are doing so
- You must be ready to engage in discussion of the controversial edits with other editors.
In the view of this incident, your focus on bringing in always the same content to this article, and generally the terrible quality of your contributions to this article, I urge you to stop your edits to Schott AG: you are not demonstrating at all that you can handle your conflict of interest. Please focus on other topics. Thank you. Ariadacapo (talk) 09:01, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello. I just don´t understand, why this article, which is a one on one-translation from the german version, is not accepted in the english wikipedia. What i miss, is a concrete and detailled argumentation, which parts of the article are problematic and why. And i have to say, that it´s pretty disrespectful to write about "terrible quality", if you don´t have or at least don´t mention real arguments. Iam ready to talk about these topics, so that we can find a solution. So please let´s focus on the article itself. Thank you for your reply.
- Let’s start with sources: please do your homework and bring in high-quality secondary sources instead of press releases by your employer. German Wikipedia is not a high-quality secondary source. Second, monitor the article history: going through it, you will see that many of your edits since May 2019 have been fixed or reverted step-by-step with precise arguments and links to relevant policies. And finally, use the article talk page when discussing controversial topics. Blank reverting to your prefered version, especially when you have a conflict of interest, is definitely problematic. Understand that you are working within a community of editors, whose input you also have to take into account. Thank you. Ariadacapo (talk) 14:39, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Ok, this is an answer i can work with. Now i know where i can find more informations about the problematic parts and how to handle that. Thank you.
