Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:26, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Miss Universe 1986
[edit]Good morning! The question about the flags of the Miss Universe 1986 contestants is as follows:Each country or territory to be able to compete in the competition needs a franchisee who takes over the rights to the brand to operate the respective selection process for its representative.in something equivalent to what happens in each National Olympic Committee to compete in the Olympic Games. So some territories are equivalent to independent countries for the Miss Universe Organization. The flags are not out of context.

Reminder to participate in Wikipedia research
[edit]Hello,
I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement.
Take the survey here.
Kind Regards,

File source problem with File:CHA23100-TheStarsAreRight!-cover.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:CHA23100-TheStarsAreRight!-cover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 09:48, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
Highgate infobox
[edit]@Sciencefish it says on the london borough section of the infobox on visual editing that it should be no wikilinks. It says " e.g. Bromley NOT Bromley ". It links itself. I am going to revert your edit. 90.218.120.231 (talk) 11:45, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- Already done as the fields do not support wikilinks. Sciencefish (talk) 12:05, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
Merry Christmas!
[edit]BOZ (talk) is wishing you a Merry Christmas! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Don't eat yellow snow!
Spread the holiday cheer by adding {{subst:User:Flaming/MC2008}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. Feel free to take a "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" if you prefer. :) BOZ (talk) 18:24, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
Hey! The page I mention in the subject, I did remove the flags in the infobox per MOS:INFOBOXFLAG but user reverted my edit. Can you check it? Thanks! Drcarrot.phd (talk) 14:12, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Just appreciate the help and your response! Drcarrot.phd (talk) 15:04, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- I've done a big clean up. New users rarely take time to familiarise themselves with the manual of style or other guidance. Sciencefish (talk) 15:09, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah.. thanks again! Really appreciate your hard work! Drcarrot.phd (talk) 15:58, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
I have undeleted Innanje as a disputed PROD. Simply being unsourced is not a valid criteria for deletion. When tagging for PROD or AfD, it is the nominator's responsibility to perform a reasonable WP:BEFORE check so they can make an argument that no sources exist, not just that none are in the article. In any case, as a legally-recognized village recorded on the 2011 Census of India, Innanje meets WP:GEOLAND and is presumed notable. If you have tagged any other villages with this rationale without checking the census data, please make sure you go back and check to make sure they don't meet GEOLAND. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 00:00, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing me to BEFORE and GEOLAND, I hadn't read these. Sciencefish (talk) 09:31, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
