Speedy deletion of Sym mio

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sym mio, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of Sym mio

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sym mio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Im looking for help building a page called "Sym Mio" which is a scooter i would like to write all about this scooter cuz i have a lot of info on it and i would like to buy it my self, i have tryed to write the page but it get deleted, for me it seens like a endless labyrinth of links and pages you need to read to understand how to write a page here. So i would like if anyone could help me from a starters point of view. --ScooterGrisen 13:17, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I agree that it can be a little difficult to get used to things here at first. I suspect that reading Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles (which is very long!) could answer any questions you have about creating an article. Based on the notes on your talk page, I'd say the problem is that you didn't include any reliable sources to back up what you said and show that the subject was notable. There's plenty of good advice on how to do that properly on the pages I linked, so take a look. If you have any particular questions, leave a note on my talk page (or you can replace the {{helpme}} tag) and we'll try to get them sorted. Good luck! --Sopoforic 16:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You did correctly to leave a message on my talk page; that's the easiest way to contact other users.

The problem wouldn't have been that you included the company's name several times, but rather that you might have made it sound like an advertisement ("Microsoft is a company that makes the best operating ever!") or that you didn't cite any sources to show that it was notable. If you have enough good sources on the article, it can be rewritten in a better tone, so that's probably the most important thing.

As I said above, feel free to ask me any questions you may have, and I'll be happy to answer them if I'm able. --Sopoforic 00:16, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One thing you could try, is to develop your Sym Mio article as a user subpage. Click on this red link to begin: User:ScooterGrisen/Sym Mio. That way, you can develop your article without someone coming by and immediately deleting it again. It can later be moved to the main article namespace.
However, that does not mean it won't be deleted again. The article should still meet Wikipedia's requirements of citing reliable sources to back up what you said and show that the subject was notable; and it should not be advertising either. Take a look at the links on the Introduction to Wikipedia that someone has added to this talk page, and also take a look at other articles on a similar subject to your article - to get ideas on how to present your article, and the kind of wording and references that are acceptable.
I've left the {{helpme}} in place in case someone else has more to add.

Didn't notice the dates here. Someone has reactivated the helpme request, but you last edit was over a month ago - maybe you're an inactive user? Astronaut (talk) 09:26, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
