I have no financial interest in the Pirateer game. Mendocino Game Company has been out of business for 20+ years. The original Wiki post is both inaccurate and incomplete. Scottmartinpeterson2 (talk) 02:49, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First, the play length of the original Wiki post for Pirateer is one hour. Compare that with the fifteen minute play length published here: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/386/pirateer
Second, the people who Peterson sued were minority shareholders in Mendocino Game Company, not board members. Peterson wasn't merely "the designer of the game", he was the majority shareholder of Mendocino Game Company.
Third, the jury didn't order Peterson to pay $791,000 to "investors and members of the company's board of directors." Peterson had terminated the prevailing plaintiffs as board members long before their counterclaim was filed. Scottmartinpeterson2 (talk) 05:19, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who fact checked the original Wiki post? Scottmartinpeterson2 (talk) 06:15, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WTF??? Scottmartinpeterson2 (talk) 06:22, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, who are you what-the-fuck-ing at? All you had to do was properly explain your conflict of interest when you were asked to do so, and before you made another nine edits--including edits like this, "According to local artist Scott Martin Peterson...", which clearly involve you, unless of course you are impersonating said local artist. If there is anything you want to achieve here, I need you to think about your editing behavior here in light of the guidelines outlined in the very first message on this talk page. Have you read that COI page? Hint: it says explicitly that a financial interest is NOT the only determining factor. Drmies (talk) 16:43, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for any offense. I didn't mean you personally. My WTF question was aimed at a process that lets inaccurate and incomplete Wiki posts dominate attempts at correcting them. I'll try to be better at reading Wiki policies completely before posting any further. Scottmartinpeterson2 (talk) 00:49, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
