A tag has been placed on Scott Anderson (speedway rider) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bit Lordy (talk) 19:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

June 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Ben Powell, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. This also applies to yoru edits on Benji Crompton which I have removed for now, partly because you removed sourced content and replaced it with a whole unsourced section. Please have a read of some of the links in the welcome message I have added above about how to edit articles, and if you need any advice just ask. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:13, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further to your creation of yet more articles, whislt it is great that you want to add articles for spedway riders, I really would urge you not to create any further articles just yet as you are creating a lot of work for other users to then bring the articles up to wikipedia standard, plus some of the articles are being put forward for deletion because they aren't being created correctly. Wikipedia has very clear guidelines for creating and editing articles, and I would urge you to have a read about how to create articles before creating any additional articles. There are tutorials for learning how to edit and create articles. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:17, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can I just say thankyou for editing some of the posts that i have made. Coding has never been my Plus Point !(Scunthorpespeedway (talk) 19:24, 14 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for your message. It is nothing to do with anything needing clarifying. You are creating articles by simply copying and pasting the information from each riders profile on the Scunthorpe Scorpions, which is not only creating a lot of work to then get the articles into wikipedia format/standard, but is also something that if another user picks up on it, you will get the speedy deletion notices on all the articles you are creating because of copyright infringement. You need to slow down, learn how to edit on wikipedia as it is totally different from anything else, and you absolutley need to stop copying and pasting from the Scorpions website. The content needs re-wording. I will have a go on one of the articles now, but the one with the speedy deltion notice above is likely to be deleted as there are strict guidelines on WP:ATHLETE for notability of sportsmen and women. As I said above if you need any advice just ask. Just please slow down!!!! :) ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:26, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK it has taken a while but hopefully most of the articles are cleaned up now. I should point out though that after I had done quite a lot of work on the Emiliano Sanchez article I realised you had mispelt his first name as Emilano and there already was an article for him with the correct first name. I have therefore redirected the page you created to the correct article and incoroprated the content from the article you created into that. I've also cleaned up the Byron Bekker and Viktor Bergström articles. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:13, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
