Hello Dog, Thank you for cleaning up and greatly expanding the page on the Canada's Cup! Chuck Ottawa, ON Canada

RCYC page

[edit]

I agree with your assessment of the notable members category I think the member has to be dead and really notable in a large historical sense. There might be merit to doing a section of RCYC Olympic sailors as many have Wikipedia pages already. There could also be a list of commodores added if the club archivist would input it. I thought of the sailor and commodore lists, but don't really see the point. Lists are inherently off-putting on a page and honestly, few people care. I value interesting over comprehensive and If you're one of the few, you can almost always find the information elsewhere. As to notability, I don't want to spend my time fighting with people who want to treat this as a personal vanity list, but at the same time, I want the page to be interesting enough that people will read a good portion of it. Reading the names of people who are busy stuffing their friends' and their own shirts doesn't contribute to readability (or the Club's reputation). Thank you for the support.Scuppersthesailordog (talk) 21:25, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
