A tag has been placed on Six horse requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Shashwat986talk 05:19, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moved Six horse to your userspace[edit]

Hi! I noticed the speedy deletion nomination on Six horse. Unfortunately it didn't establish any notability for the band, but I did notice on the talk page that you seemed to be very interested in continuing to work on it. Because of this, I've moved it to your userspace at User:Sean.exposure/Six horse. What this means is that while this won't be in the mainspace, it won't be as easily deleted. Apart from it being abandoned or obviously promotional, it's pretty difficult to get userspace articles deleted. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:43, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • On a side note, in order to show notability you'd have to show that the band has been covered in independent and reliable sources per WP:RS. The existence of other articles that lack this coverage doesn't really mean that this article should be kept, because all that means is that those articles haven't been found and deleted or improved yet. I've got a longer list of stuff about notability and sources here, but a good place to go for help on music related albums is WP:MUSIC. The problem with small/indie bands is that many times the coverage can be in places that either isn't reliable or is by a magazine or paper that doesn't put their stuff on the internet. That's where the music wikiproject will come in handy- many of them will know of places to look for sources. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:50, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thank you for letting me know! I'll read up on that list and see what I can do to get some credibility. That indie band information is something I'm glad you informed me about as I had been wondering about it for a while - it seems like information for smaller bands is harder to find on here - I didn't realize this and it makes more sense now I've been actively involved in the small music scene for over 12 years, I've also tried to get experience with some of the artists and have made it a point to hit some of the big distros around the US where these people work - I work in IT and started contributing to the community through a blog recently and figured I could post some of my information on lesser known bands (primarily in the Noise Rock scene) - I will try and find some verifiable sources before I post anything again. Thanks a lot for getting back to me.
  • It's no problem- I remember when I first started editing and getting frustrated over similar things. Since you do have knowledge over various music-y things, you might want to try looking to see if there are any other music related articles that you could help flesh out. As long as you can source them through RS, you can add almost anything. We frequently have a lot of articles about songs, bands, and albums that languish here on Wikipedia because nobody gives them any attention. I know I like looking through Category:Proposed deletion to try to find articles I can help rescue. I also recommend that you help out with anything computer related as we're always needing help on those types of articles as well. I try to help out where I can with music stuff, but I'll openly admit that I'm fairly clueless when it comes to the computer-related stuff. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:28, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
