If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SeniorHomes.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, SeniorHomes. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. BoxOfChickens (talk · contribs · CSD/ProD log) 01:17, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Just Chilling (talk) 01:21, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I foolishly chose a username that was the same as my first submission, which was a violation of terms for an apparent conflict of interest and appeared spammy. I'd still like to have the opportunity to contribute to the Wikipedia community as a whole. (SeniorHomes (talk) 21:59, 28 January 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Decline reason:

Request is now stale, as the user has failed to respond in a timely manner to the below questions. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 13:02, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a subject that you are trying to create an article about, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to break the 3 important questions above.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:37, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I understand the purpose of Wikipedia as a source of encyclopedic information, as well as the issues with conflict of interest. The article in question is regarding an entity that is part of a publicly traded company. This detail was provided in the content. This type of content seems to be allowed elsewhere, such as o this article forA Place for Mom or with this more extensive article for Zillow. This content on both of these pages was presumably created by a party who has a vested interest in the respective companies. It was my goal to create an article similar in nature which was neutral and had no bias.

Secondly, I did not carefully review the username policy, else I would have not created a username of SeniorHomes. This was clearly my error, which I desire to amend.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. (SeniorHomes (talk) 00:53, 29 January 2016 (UTC))[reply]

  • Administrator comment: I'm not fully satisfied with your response there. So, please answer these questions:
    1. What edits do you intend to make if you are unblocked?
    2. Are you a paid editor, and if so who by and for what purpose? (You are legally required to disclose this per our terms of use and paid editing policy.)
    3. What is your understanding of how you previously violated policy, other than your choice of username?
  • In your reply, please use {{ping|Coffee}} so that I am aware of your response. Thank you. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 08:37, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
