Orphaned non-free media (Image:Screenshot 00416.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Screenshot 00416.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hello,

thanks for the note. If you would kindly turn your attention to this forum thread, you will see that all major contributors to that article are Blockland users and WP:SPA's. Most of the information added to that article has been discussed on this thread. As all the editors are from Blockland, and one of them the Blockland game developer himself, there is obviously a lot of people not adhering to WP:NPOV.--gordonrox24 (talk) 22:43, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sergeant. I don't really think that there is a contrast of interest, and I think all editors are editing with good faith and intentions, but after reading the forum post I gave you, I cannot see how what they are writing is critical or neutral. All the posts on that thread are about showing off the good aspects of a game. None of these critical in any form.

As for the editors editing the article, we have 71.127.110.213 , User:Tommeh6 , and User:Ephialtes42, none of which have made edits other then the ones to the Blockland article or it's AfD discussion. How does this not make then WP:SPA's?

Also, the article has one Primary source. Reference #6 is right to the Blockland web site. Should that not be removed and replaced by a {{fact}} tag? Thanks! --gordonrox24 (talk) 19:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I understand what you are getting at, but where do we draw the line? Ford is an important figure in society, so the information on their website has to be reliable for their customers around the world, and the EPA is a government organization; so there is nothing more reliable then them. The Blockland web site doesn't have this, they can write whatever promotional statements they want. I am sure the info there is correct, but I am still not sure we can use it as a reliable source.
The forum thread by the game developer I took to the Reliable sources noticeboard, and was told that because there was no press release from lego, or any statement by them, how can they prove that this ever happened. They said that while the developer posting about his game is allowed and can be used in some context, making claims as to what the Lego group is going to do put this thread out of the category as reliable. Thanks!--gordonrox24 (talk) 10:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I only challenged that with Wikipedia's policy that primary sources should be avoided if possible in mind. If other editors don't have a problem with it, then I see no reason for me to pursue it further. I understand your thinking with the COI and I think the POV tag will serve almost the same purpose. I have no problem with you changing it. Criticism is always the hardest part when trying to write a good article. It will take some work, but it can be done. Thanks for your help.--gordonrox24 (talk) 20:55, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the article needs a criticism sections, I just think it has to be more neutral. Criticism doesn't make an article neutral. --gordonrox24 (talk) 21:29, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ha ha. It is very easy to get each other confused over the internet. I just meant that if you were planning on writing a criticism section that it would be hard, but it could be done; although I don't think one is appropriate for this article at this point in time.
