Welcome![edit]

Hello, Setnomja, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Infoboxes[edit]

Hi! I saw that you were interested in the infoboxes (the boxes containing all of the person's bio data) that you see on the articles. To add one, you can do one of a few things:

  • You can add them to the article by going to the template button (while in Visual Editor mode) and selecting "infobox person". This will add the basic template to the page and you can select the fields you want.
  • Finally, another way to do this would be to copy the infobox from the article of another performer. You can paste it into your draft and edit it to suit your needs. This is honestly the one that I often do when making infoboxes.

In this case, however, I have gone ahead and added the infobox for you. I do have to mention a concern I have for the draft. It looks like the only non-primary sources on the page go to articles that aren't about Zuko or don't seem to mention him. Keep in mind that it's incredibly important for the article to have independent, reliable sources that discuss Zuko in some depth, as this will establish notability as well as back up the claims in the article. Be careful with sourcing, as not all sources are considered to be reliable on Wikipedia. The sources should have good editorial oversight and a good verification process. If it's self-published the source needs to be seen as a trusted authority by other reliable sources, especially academic and scholarly ones. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:16, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a picture with permission[edit]

Hi Shalor,

I was wondering what I will have to do in order to cite or allow the Wikipedia community to know that an image I have on my page has permission? I contacted Eddie Zuko, the person my article is about via Instagram, and he is getting back to me with a picture of himself that he has given me permission to post. How will I cite this? Manually?

Thank you so much, your help is appreciated!

Setnomja, See some of these Wikipedia links:
Normally, images are added to Wikipedia's sister project, Wikipedia Commons (you can find it here). The FAQ page at Commons will probably answer a lot of your questions. Hope this helps, Mathglot (talk) 21:18, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page protocol[edit]

Setnomja, please always sign your posts with four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your message; see WP:4TILDES. Please also read WP:THREAD and WP:FOURTILDES about how to engage in discussions on Talk pages.

When you address or reply to another editor in a comment, in order to make them aware of it, you need to make sure they are notified. Like where you said, "Hi Shalor" above, in order to make sure she sees your comment, you need to link her username, like this, using the exact spelling of her username: [[User:Shalor (Wiki Ed)]]. Another way to do it, perhaps a bit easier, is with a template: see templates {{reply}} and {{ping}}. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 21:38, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
