Disambiguation link notification for May 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Blackham baronets, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William III (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:22, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sgtblackpepper! A little too late to add to what was said at the Teahouse, I thought I’d drop you a line here. The heraldic images diaplayed on the site come from a wide variety of sources, ranging from scans of old books & documents to graphics made entirely on a computer; each method calls for different kinds of software. Did you have a particular example in mind? User-created vector drawings in SVG format often say on their file description page what program was used; I believe the most popular is Inkscape because it’s free, multi-platform, and uses a form of SVG as its native format. Commercial drawing programs like Adobe Illustrator and (I believe) CorelDRAW can produce results of similar quality, and since SVG files are made of plain text they can even be edited by hand-coding, especially if only changing a few properties (like colour or line thickness—as opposed to actual drawing, which of course benefits from visual feedback). Feel free to follow up here or on my Talk page if you have further questions.—Odysseus1479 22:00, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
