Barnstars.

[edit]

Please don't give out so many barnstars... you've handed out 42 to Milk's Favorite Cookie alone since January 19. You've been blocked in the past for this (unblocked second time, because you spoke to the blocking admin, and he was "reassured this won't happen again"), so I recommend you slow down. · AndonicO Hail! 16:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you serious?

[edit]

I just noticed over at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Milk's Favorite Cookie you've mentioned the astounding number of barnstars the candidate has gotten. Then, I noticed that a huge number of them were given by you. Are you joking?!? These shenanigans surely cannot help the candidate. Friday (talk) 20:30, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They were given for undertaking tasks. What's the difference? Wisdom89 (T / C) 21:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cutting Down

[edit]

We need to severely cut down on the article size of the award center you maintain. We should remove completed tasks, and remove the outdated section located at User:Sharkface217/Award Center#Award recipients. You can get back to me whenever you have time. You've been nominated

[edit]

I've also sent Oreo the same link so s/he can add their co-nomination - please don't transclude the page until after that's been posted, as it could complicate matters. Thanks, and the best of luck. Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:43, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The RFA runs for 1 week, starting from when you officially accept the nomination and transclude your candidate page onto the main RFA page. So it's up to you when it actually starts - if you won't be around enough to answer questions until later this week, I would highly recommend not transcluding until then, as you will be bombarded by questions early on, and people will expect answers to them in a timely manner. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. - Make sure to replace the current "Scheduled to end" timestamp with this code when you do transclude: {{subst:#time: h:i, [[F j]], [[Y]]|{{subst:CURRENTTIMESTAMP}} +7 days}} That will reset the time to when it should end. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:30, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sharkface, I believe I've completed the RC Patrol/vandalism challenge. Ever since signing up, I've warned 100 different anons/users. Here's a diff list. Also, do I have it right that it counts toward the 20 blocks if you are in any way involved with warning/AIV reporting a user, who eventually ends up getting blocked soon? If so, I may have reached the requirement for that, but I haven't bothered trying to count those up yet.

Good luck next time. Btw, here is a tiny of my advice. Change the colour of your signature. Red and black doesn't really go together, plus black gives a really bad first impression (black is related to evil, vampire, or the phrase "black hearted"). And mind if you archive your talk page, it's REALLY LONG. OhanaUnitedTalk page 20:10, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
48 threads? Hardly long, and some people (like me) prefer a long talk page - makes us look busy.. weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 22:23, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Swanberg

[edit]

I reverted vandalism on the Joe Swanberg page, and you reverted it back, calling my edit unconstructive. I'm 99.9% certain that Swanberg's next film is _not_ called "Sucking a Big Dick". It is obvious vandalism. I'm reverting it again.Anonymoustom (talk) 03:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep up the great work

[edit]

Just want to say keep up the great work with your RC patrolling, you have beaten me to the punch many times and it is frustrating! Just joking, you do a good job. Dont worry about the Chinese tea edit, i did the same thing a day earlier. When you see vast amounts of a page deleted you mostly know its vandalism except in that case, ClueBot was also fooled. It all started back on the 8th of April, im sure you know already. I know its tough when your doing patrol you revert so fast without hesitation but i guess its always good to double check. Sorry about your RFA result, didn't get to vote, i dont visit that page often but when your ready tell me and you got my vote. Thanks Sharkface, i hope your not as scary as a shark:) Roadrunnerz45 (talk) 07:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...
...for your participation in my RFA, which closed with 85 supports, 2 neutrals and 1 oppose. I'm extremely grateful for all the the kind comments from so many brilliant Wikipedians I've come to respect and admire, as well as many others I've not yet had the pleasure of working with, and I'll do my best to put my shiny new mop and bucket to good use! Once again, thank you ;)

Recent Changes Patrol at AWC

[edit]

I've completed more than 100 warnings since sign up. And thanks for all your efforts keeping the AWC going. I think it's an important way to inspire people to keep the 'plumbing' of Wikipedia working by spreading the work around. - Dravecky (talk) 22:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have also warning at least 100 editors since signing up for this challenge. I still have a couple more blocks to go before I'm eligible for the other barnstar, but I'll keep working on it. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 22:57, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have now had 20 editors blocked for vandalism, ranging everywhere from one hour to indefinitely. I'm still short on the reports to AIV, though (20 of the 22 I have reported received blocks). GaryColemanFan (talk) 03:19, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Freshbakedpie's Barnstar

[edit]

Hey, listen, I think perhaps this competition is making the participants a little too eager and jumping on good faith edits -- for example, Freshbakedpie reverted this edit, which is clearly not vandalism, warned the IP, and then removed my question about it without an answer. It seems he's also removed the questions of other users that have asked about his overzealous vandalism reverting, like here. Should we really be awarding this behavior with barnstars? GlassCobra 02:14, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you tag this article? It is a translation of the article in de.wikipedia, and it is regarded by the editors at WP:WikiProject Plants as being very accurate.--Curtis Clark (talk) 03:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Milhist Tag & Assess 2008

[edit]

Did you participate in the first one?

I'm assuming that this continues from where the 2007 drive ended. The project had a bot pull a list of articles that may be related to it in terms of scope. A lot of false flags turned however as a result, so then the participants went through the results manually and verified what was in or out of scope and assessed if it was. The results were broken up into numbered ranges to avoid people stepping on each others' toes while reviewing and assessing, and you signed up for a range you wanted to work on. They have detailed instructions on each of the results pages. I am not going to do this one probably or if I do, will not start soon, as I am going on vacation next Friday for 2 weeks.
