November 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Sharon Brown (actress), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 13:22, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sharon Brown (actress). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. Please explain what you're trying to do to the article. It looks like you're trying to overwrite an existing article with your name. —C.Fred (talk) 13:25, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Sharon Brown (actress). Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Please note that while you may rejoice in your married name, you are best known under your maiden name (see the IMDb listings I've provided for each name). Under our rules for naming articles, the article stays under the name by which you are best known. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:13, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of three hours for edit warring, as you did at Sharon Brown (actress). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Orange Mike | Talk 14:13, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • You'll need to do one (or both) of these things if you want to make changes to the Sharon Brown (actress) article:
  1. Provide reliable sources that have been published that show the change of the subject's professional name.
  2. Contact the Volunteer Response Team via email, so they can validate your identity. That may not directly get the article changed, but it will clear up the issue with your username.
You should also check the guidelines for both autobiographies and editing when you have a conflict of interest. Please take the time during your short block to do that. —C.Fred (talk) 14:17, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
