Gigo Funakoshi

I am the founder of the Karate Taskforce on Wikipedia. You have really over-stepped by moving pages without consensus on a quite high profile figure in Shotokan Karate. The references in the article Yoshitaka Funakoshi mainly use Gigo. As per WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be titled by the most commonly-used name.

In future you need to be more thorough and post your plans to the Talk page of any article that you are going to move, rather than bulldoze it. If a nickname is the most common name then that's the name of page, for example Bruce Lee's name is Lee Jun-fan, and Chuck Norris is Carlos Ray Norris. I am going to attempt to roll-back your edits. It makes no difference to WP:Commonname. There are 21 mainspace instances of Gigo Funakoshi links on Wikipedia and 4 for Yoshikata Funakoshi. Mountaincirque^talk 14:23, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
