2021 New York City mayoral election

Hi! I'm so sorry for all of the edits on the mayoral page. I was just trying to put in endorsements as I saw them, and I didn't realize that I was causing problems. I'll try to be more careful going forward (also, I'm sorry for not writing this sooner, I hadn't figured out how to do this). Also, I know I had added some second choice endorsements earlier from the NYC congressional members, but do those not count? One more thing, how to you add the descriptions when you make an edit on a page? I wanted to do that in the past for better clarity, but I couldn't figure out how to add it.

@02rufus02: You have received numerous notices about the need to use reputable sources. Answers to your question about proper sources for the endorsements of candidates can be found, as mentioned several times, at WP:ENDORSE. Adding endorsements of second-choice ranking is appropriate when reputable sources are used to support that information. Since you profess to now know how to add summaries, you've been notified about adding summaries and given an explanation of how to add them on your talk page. 2021 New York City mayoral election endorsements

|Hi, I made an edit to the 2021 New York City Mayoral Election Wikipedia page and I believe it was adding Larry Kudlow's endorsement of Curtis Sliwa. I attached a link to Sliwa's website with the video where Kudlow endorses him and I am not sure how this source is not valid. @MrJRSmith: Hi, thanks for checking in. I know it's frustrating to have edits reverted. The reason I removed the endorsement was that it was sourced using the campaign's website, which is not an independent source, and I did not find a reputable source to replace it with. Also, for individuals endorsing a campaign, that individual's social media cannot be used. You may want to review WP:ENDORSE, where you will find Wikipedia's policies regarding endorsements. If you have any issues with or questions about these, you should feel free to create a section on that policy's talk page. I hope this answers your question. @MrJRSmith: The video in question was posted by a YouTube account with the name "Maria Sliwa, M. Sliwa Public Relations". It is not verified and no copyright attribution was given to Fox in the description. Whether that can be accepted is up for debate; I would argue it should not be accepted. The assumption was that the source was being used to cite their casting, not so much their desire to be named with solely lowercase letters. This isn't the only instance of an individual having their own citation by their name in the article, Curtiss Cook has one too. I don't find it especially fair to hold anything against me when there wasn't more apparent clues as to why their name was formatted as such. I've added notes regardless to prevent future confusion. Yeah, not everyone is reading the edit descriptions, or at the least sees the prior edit about this particular issue. I at the least left a note you cannot miss when making an edit, any future changes are a direct defiance. If there is not a source that exists specifically about the name, so be it. I wasn't challenging you to find one, my overall point was that, it's very easy to not see that the source was there to note why their name is formatted with all lowers, the Variety headline certainly doesn't help with that. I would like to highlight though Variety is constantly uppercasing menas' last name throughout the article as well, but what's important is the specific quote has been included to the source link so that in addition to the hidden note leaves absolutely no excuses for anyone changing it.
