You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. You're arguing with a robot. You probably need to make a small correction to your preferences; under the box where you enter your signature is a check box saying "Treat the above as wiki markup".
