If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Siddfatima, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of David Coury, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.davidcoury.com/wordpress/about-david-2/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of David Coury

[edit]

Hello Siddfatima,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged David Coury for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thesixthstaff (talk) 19:59, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Answering your post on my talk page in es.wiki

[edit]

Hey! Thank you for your message on my talk page in es.wiki! I’m responding here because I’m feeling lazy right now and don't feel like forcing myself to be articulate and intelligible in Spanish. (Since you live in the US and have edited a bunch in English, I’m guessing you understand English as well as you do Spanish, but if that's not the case, and there's anything you'd like explained in Spanish, just let me know.)

Anyway, I’m glad to hear that you want to help make Wikipedia better and are looking to learn how to do that! That's awesome. And I’m really glad that you're still here trying even though so many of your first attempts may have been frustrating.

I do see that back in May, I flagged a number of photos that you had uploaded, and as a result, they were quickly deleted. I don't remember the photos themselves, but my guess would be that they were photos that you had found on the internet and uploaded to use in Wikipedia. For copyright reasons, that's not allowed, so those photos would have been immediately deleted. If those were the photos that you yourself took of JC González, then they shouldn't have been deleted, and I apologize for that mistake. But in either case, what you can do now is simply upload the photos that you took that you want to see used on Wikipedia just like you did before. It helps if you include in the description where and when the photos were taken.

I also see that I reverted some of your edits as being “too promotional”, and I put a link to the neutrality policy. There are a lot of different rules on Wikipedia, and it can be overwhelming at first, but I think you're off to a really good start. If I have the time and the energy, I’ll probably go back through the JC González article and tone it down a little bit. I don't know how many of the changes were made by you and how many by others, but to give an example, in the phrase “JC es conocido como Jhonny, un divertido papel”, the use of the word “divertido” is inappropriate because it's too subjective. (Someone else might think that his character was rather boring.) However, if he received praise from critics, and they used that word in praising him, we could say that. Does that distinction make sense? Similarly, phrases like “Gonzalez no se detiene ni quiere parar en su búsqueda para fusionar sonidos y ritmos aprendidos en su experiencia con la música americana y la música latina, que le permitan expresar sus sentimientos y siga construyendo un puente de comunicación con su público” are far from neutral (and sound like they come straight out of a press release). It's much better to simply state the facts: in this case, something like “Gonzalez fusiona sonidos y ritmos de la música estadounidense con la música latina”. Here's a good essay with more information on that.

On your talk page in Spanish, I left a message with a number of links, and I noticed that Thesixthstaff left you a similar message here. I’d recommend reading those and familiarizing yourself with the different policies and guidelines that determine how things are done here. In the meantime, it looks like you're on the right path. You will probably make mistakes and come into conflict with other people. That's normal. And as long as you remember to always use talk pages when you disagree with someone or don't understand why someone did something, and treat people nicely, you should be good.

Let me know if you have any more questions or if there's anything I can help you with.

Happy editing! -- irn (talk) 18:38, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Menudo (band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Johnny Wright (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Siddfatima. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:17, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First, thanks for your message and I appreciate your help me improve my wiki's skills. I am working in different projects in Wikipedia. One of them is about JC Gonzalez. I donot work with him and do not receive any compensation for that. I watched him in some performances and I decided to share some pictures that I have. Thanks a lot for your advice. --Siddfatima (talk) 04:30, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fred Armisen, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pawnee and Jhonny (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
