Speedy deletion nomination of Femous[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Femous requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. LordVetinari (talk) 00:01, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Femous[edit]

I have userfied the article for you - put into a user sub-page where you can work on it - at User:Siju100/Femous. We get so many very short articles about non-notable subjects that an article that does not make a "credible claim of importance or significance" may be speedily deleted. The references you gave on my talk page would be enough, at least, to save it from speedy deletion.

However there is another issue: I see from de:Benutzer:Siju1000 that you are Silvia Jura, the founder of Femous. That gives you, from Wikipedia's point of view, a WP:Conflict of interest. Please read that guideline, and also WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. In brief, you should not yourself post articles or make significant edits on matter where you have a COI, but should instead suggest the changes you would like on an article talk page, declaring your interest, and let uninvolved users decide.

What you should do with this article is:

You should understand that Wikipedia is not a sort of notice-board like Myspace. Nobody, least of all its subject owns a Wikipedia article - other people will edit it, and you will not be able to insist on your preferred version. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:53, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
