Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Simi Olaiya, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Choice of WikiEd articles

[edit]

I strongly suggest you (1) choose ONE article to work on, (2) do NOT work on current affairs articles, (3) do NOT work on articles marked controversial or contentious. Trying to edit current/controversial/both articles based on arbitrary tasks set by WikiEd is only going to result in headaches for everyone. Kingsif (talk) 05:07, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Selecting an article

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you assigned yourself several articles that are under discretionary sanctions to improve as part of your assignment. I wanted to let you know that it might be challenging to work on these articles, especially as part of your your first major contribution to Wikipedia. I strongly recommend that you pick a different article to work on - one that has scope for improvement. Remember, you only need to choose ONE article to work one for your assignment.
