Rebranding

On 5th July 2008, The City Bank Limited changed its brand name to City Bank. The bank also introduced a new logo and a brand philosophy line. The logo has a dynamic shape, which represents dynamism and modernity of the 21st century. The Red and Silver shape in the logo has versatile meaning, it resembles a chessboard which represents wisdom & vision; a flying kite, highlighting the skies of many possibilities. The brand philosophy line "Making Sense of Money" emphasizing on importance of money which is almost synonymous to life. City Bank with its 37 years of experience wants to help customers to make perfect sense of money.

Banking

City Bank being a 37-year-old bank has transformed itself by adopting global best practices by doing away with age-old traditional decentralized banking practices and culture. Previously it used to follow traditional and orthodox banking methods but the bank has undergone massive restructuring in 2007 and has implemented centralized business model serving many customers through 4 distinct business divisions namely Corporate & Investment Banking, Retail Banking (includes Cards), SME Banking and Treasury and Market Risks. The focus of the “transformation” project was also on improving the overall quality of assets; re-launching the brand anew; leveraging the technology potential; improving the quality of product offerings and placing much higher benchmarks for customer service. Online & Mobile Banking Services

Citytouch Citytouch is a mobile banking application from the house of City Bank. This application allows the registered user to transfer money between City Bank accounts and other bank accounts, including utility and own credit card bill payments including other Bank’s credit card bill payment. It also enables the user to open FD accounts along with placing request for updating personal information without visiting the branch.

City i-Banking An extension of the City Retail services, the i-Banking is an online transaction facility from City Bank. The customer can access the account through internet from anywhere around and also have a hassle free transaction like getting bank statements, checkbook enquiry, viewing account summary and details from a convenient location.

Following the success of International Lounge, in 2013 City Bank introduced country’s first domestic airport lounge at the same airport. Corporate Social Responsibility

The bank is regularly pursuing towards environmentally sustainable and socially equitable development. City Bank partnered with Eminence, Bangladesh sponsored series of awareness program against cancer at national level such as Specialized training program for nurses on cancer Provide VIA and mammography for women under a UNFPA project with low cost. A total of 100 eligible women from an identified urban slum were taken to the BSMMU and tested for both cervical cancers screening through VIA and breast cancer screening through physical examination and mammography. The positive cancer patients were followed up and efforts were taken in order to provide them with proper treatment.

With the support of City Bank the poor women in Basatpur village of Jessore are now trained to sew their way out of poverty. The bank funded the project called “livelihood program for women in Jessore” for three years starting from 2011 and the project as already placed the villages in position to market their products. The Bank partnered with MRDI, ManusherJonno Foundation and BachteSekha along with the local community and set up sewing and embroidery training center for 200 women within the span of three years.

City Bank recently joined hands with Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) by donating Tk 25 Lacs to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare fund created for the victims of fire at Neemtali and building collapse at Begunbari in the city.

City bank sponsored the complete renovation and Development of Baridhara Lakeside Park. The Bank financed this large project while Baridhara Society supervised the work and Spotlight carried out the year-long work that included jet fountain on the lake, building new pathway, sitting spaces, new toilets inside the park, planting new trees, installing sitting platforms by the water and so on.
