Request reason:

I was blocked by Smartse for "advertising and self promoting", but was not given any further explanation of what I did wrong. I suppose this is related to the article I published? Unless I'm mistaken, I followed guidelines properly (which took me a while to learn!), sourcing everything and not making any false claims. The article was not about me (or someone close to me), so I was not self-promoting. If I didn't follow guidelines properly, or there was an issue with the article, what seems more appropriate is some guidance or feedback. Why was my account blocked? Sincerelyjohn (talk) 11:54, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Unblocking as this editor doesn't seem to be a promotional editor or had used Wikipedia under another name. 331dot (talk) 09:19, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Smartse: Could you clarify the reasoning on this for me? Your edit summary on the deleted article was cut off, I think. 331dot (talk) 12:49, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot: There's something in the history of that that I consider to mean that it's impossible for this to be a new editor. I'll explain in an email. SmartSE (talk) 13:03, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I need to consider this some more; any other admins, feel free to review. 331dot (talk) 13:19, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In the past I have edited without login in, though I still don't understand why I'm being blocked. Sincerelyjohn (talk) 22:19, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any particular reason you edited about Michael Schulson? 331dot (talk) 22:59, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm into cooking and celebrity chef shows. Saw him on a TV cooking competition, his particular style of mixing Asian and Western foods has been a big influence on my cooking. I used Joe Bastianich's Wikipedia page as a template to write Michael Schulson's page. Sincerelyjohn (talk) 06:39, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
