Thank you for taking the time to review the article. I'm a little confused. Jimmy Doom is famous in Michigan for his work with the Almighty Lumberjacks of Death, Host of Erotic Poetry Shows, and his writing for all of the major publications in the Metropolitan Detroit area. What do I need to do differently so that he is considered notable?
Also, could you provide additional information about the inline citations? Everything I used came from major metro Detroit/Michigan publications. I've taught English for 24 years, so I'm unsure how these aren't considered quality sources.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

Jimmy Doom[edit]

The draft needs to satisfy the requirements of WP:MUSICBIO. One of the main issues when I reviewed the draft was the reliability of the cited references. Discogs, IMDb, and GoodReads, are not acceptable or reliable sources as they are user generated without any independent editorial oversight. In addition, podcasts, interviews and the individual's websites are all primary sources and therefore not independent or reliable either. The Detroit Free Presss website is behind a paywall so can't be accessed or verified. Also the sources require properly referenced inline citations - see WP:REFB. You also need to remove all embedded links to external websites (WP:CS:EMBED) these should be replaced with inline citations. In addition, there are a number of statements in the draft that lack any sources or references - this constitutes original research and needs to be removed if a source to support it can't be found.

I hope that the above helps clarify my review. I would be prepared to reassess once the issues have been addressed. Happy editing. Dan arndt (talk) 05:56, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. This helps a lot. I'll revisit it this weekend and resource the material. Sindrella409 (talk) 10:50, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I notice that you carried out a newcomer's copyediting task on Sorcerer's Apprentice (Shah book). I reverted your edit because you removed several useful wikilinks, links to other Wikipedia articles, which rather defeats the purpose of a wiki. I've removed the dead external link that you found, as I checked the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine and couldn't find an archived version. It's best not to delete dead external links, but to check Google and the Wayback Machine first and update the link or tag them instead as dead links. See Wikipedia:Template index/Cleanup. I also copyedited the advert-like text that you had found. Regards, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 19:29, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question. When I tried posting an article I was told that I couldn't use links to other Wiki articles because it was circular referencing. Which is correct?
I'll update them as dead links next time. Thank you for your help! Sindrella409 (talk) 20:05, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can't use Wikipedia for citations (references), as Wikipedia is not a reliable source. You can't use other sites that mirror Wikipedia content as citations (references), as that is a circular reference. In the text (not as references) you can (and should) add wikilinks, links to other Wikipedia articles.
This is a wikilink: [[WP:GOLDENRULE|Golden Rule]]
This is a reference: <ref>somewhere.com</ref>
