Possible COI[edit]

I notice that so far you've edited only pages concerning MediaMiser.

Do you have a personal association with this organisation? If so it would be good to review the conflict of interest guideline.

Be assured that your contributions are welcome. The guideline does not seek to prohibit employees etc. of organisations from giving us the benefit of your knowledge. It does however require disclosure, and recommend using talk pages rather than editing the article directly. Andrewa (talk) 23:52, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Andrewa. Yes I am an employee at Agility PR Solutions (previously MediaMiser). I was asked by the Marketing team to change the title of the page, as the company has changed it's name. We included 3rd party links to show that this was legitimate. Can you tell me how to go about getting our title changed here on wikipedia. No I haven't got a long history of editing, nor do I intend to ever accrue one. Pretty sure no-one else at the company does either. Again, please let me know how to push this edit through so that Wikipedia can reflect reality in terms of our company page. Thanks. Singerfc (talk) 21:29, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid your Marketing team may have, perhaps unknowingly, set you up for failure.
Have a look at Wikipedia:Official names and then at Wikipedia:Article title policy (the official policy on which the essay is based). Do you see the problem?
Wikipedia has no argument with corporate image programs, but nor do we allow our pages to be used to advance them. This is seen as a form of promotion. Your reality in terms of our company page does not necessarily reflect reality as we see it, which is through reliable WP:secondary sources. If the image program is successful, and your organisation becomes commonly known by its new name, then the page should be renamed, but not until then.
If you can show that this has already happened, then by all means continue. Find reliable sources that refer to the organisation by its new name. It can happen quite quickly. It's best but not essential to find sources that refer to something else the organisation has done, other than just the renaming.
What we are after is something of the form Agility PR Solutions today... or Agility PR Solutions (previously MediaMiser) today... rather than MediaMiser (recently renamed Agility PR Solutions) today..., in fact every source we find that uses that last form is evidence against the move.
Feel free to tell your bosses that you've been assured that the name of the article can be changed once this evidence is produced. It normally takes a week to process such requests, and I will endeavour to make sure it takes no longer (I may need your help for this as I can't both initiate and action the move request, but I can action your request assuming there's no opposition, so best you make a new request when you have the evidence).
Meantime, I have created a redirect at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Agility_PR_Solutions which you may want to try, and we can update the article to reflect the new name... I've made a start on that too. More to follow as I have time. Suggestions at Talk:MediaMiser of course.
Good luck... I have been in corporate Australia, and know that performance is assessed by results not reasoning. It sucks sometimes. We'll get your results happening asap.

Hello again Andrewa. I believe we can now provide you with sources that support our renaming in a way that satisfies your criteria. Please see the following articles:

Please let me know if:

-this is enough
-these links are no good, or
-these links are good, but we need more

Thanks in advance. Singerfc (talk) 17:06, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Looking at it. Watch this space. Andrewa (talk) 21:57, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The PRWeek link is exactly the sort I'm after. Good stuff. Andrewa (talk) 22:14, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrewa - any updates? Thanks Singerfc (talk) 23:15, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrewa - any updates? Thanks Singerfc (talk) 16:19, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrewa - any updates? you mentioned above that a link I provided was ′good stuff′ and ′exactly′ what you were after, and also that you would ′endeavour to make sure′ the process would take no longer than a week. Thanks Singerfc (talk) 15:10, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
