Reversion

[edit]

Hi there, re: this, I have reverted the edit, because the source you chose to provide, this, attributes those high grosses to sources that the Wikipedia community doesn't generally consider reliable, and further says, "However, the box office reports published by several websites are not credible, and neither the filmmakers nor the theatre owners have revealed the exact figure ... So, it looks like the collections of the film may not cross ₹100 crore." This makes it highly questionable that the 144 crore figure is valid. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:22, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More issues

[edit]

Hi there,

  1. Here, you changed a gross figures in favor of a higher figure sourced to a blog. Wikipedia doesn't care what blogs or other random websites have to say. Anybody can start a website and publish whatever figures they want. We only care what reliable published sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about anything. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for a general list of sites considered sufficient or not.
  2. Here you factor in satellite rights and audio rights sales into a film's financial figures. A film's gross is always the amount of money it made at the theatre, in ticket sales. We never factor in rights sales. See Avengers: Endgame. There is nothing special about Indian films that we need to track every dollar the film made. Further, a consensus was established at WT:ICTF to exclude satellite rights content from articles. Feel free to look in the archives if you care about this issue.
  3. Here you added a claim that Pokkiri grossed 100 crore, but the reference you used doesn't resolve.

It would be appreciated if you'd please keep this issues in mind and exercise a little more care going forward. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:24, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
